Ahhhh Rome. This was my third trip to this lovely city, and I was thrilled to be here. Originally, I was not going to come here this year, and fly out of another city, but if you ever have a chance to visit Rome, I suggest taking it, for it is worth your time I assure you. As my time was limited in Rome, I wanted to maximize every opportunity. Most of the things I did, I have done before, but again, it is such a joy to see and be in this wonderful place. I left Milan with all the excitement of going to Cinque Terre. I was here several years ago, and I have wanted to come back for so long. A little history... The Cinque Terre (meaning five lands) is a coastal area within Liguria, in the northwest of Italy. It is comprised of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Access to Cinque Terre by car is limited. A road to Vernazza is very narrow and ends 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) before the town. Fresh off a trip to Machu Picchu, my travel companions and I decide to go out and explore Cusco. We were here briefly before we spent the day in Machu Picchu, but we really didn't get to take in the city and surrounding area. Now is our time. We make our way to Sacsayhuamán, a beautiful old site that looks like an archeological dig, and we walk around. We walk up and down these rock walls and just explore to the best of our abilities. The best known zone of Sacsayhuamán includes its great plaza and its adjacent three massive terrace walls. The stones used in the construction of these terraces are among the largest used in any building in pre-Hispanic America. I was contacted by a friend of mine concerning travel to South America. I was a little hesitant, for I had already had a vacation this year, but then I thought about it, and I said why not. Saying that, now I was on a journey to this wonderous location which was quite unexpected. There were two others and me that decided to take this journey. I was so excited, and for our main reason for the travel, we were going to one of the worlds wonders, Machu Picchu. I arrive in Belfast from Dublin, and I am very eager and excited to be here. I am a huge Game of Thrones fan, and a lot of the filming is done in Belfast. I have slated two separate tours that I am so excited about. I also didn't want to miss out on going to the sight to where one of the most famous ships in history was built; The Titanic. With a pretty full schedule, I thought it best to go to tour the Titanic museum and site first thing. I normally use my feet to get around, and for this trip I continued to do so.
