Last week, my dear friend Edgar from the Phillipines came to visit and we decided to get away for the weekend. Said and done! After picking up the rental car we were off aimlessly.. With no idea of where to go but South we started driving and the pictures are a show you of what kind of places we ended up in and what we did. Just have to mention that the Blue Mountains was a very nice part of the trip with splendid views reminding me of the Grand Canyon. Quelle spectacle!!... read more

The good student In case any one is wondering I have been busy, busy busy! Yes as a matter of fact I am so overwelmed with work at uni that I havn't had so much time to do other things. It takes alot to adapt to the new system, reading everything in English and writing assignments using academic phrases I didn't imagine exist. However, that's what I'm here for isn't it?? I enjoy reading about countries I would never get the chance to study in Sweden such as Indonesia, Japan, China and Malaysia to mention a few. All the study aside, I would like to know how you all are doing. I would like for everyone of you to just write me a short mail and letting me know what's the latest in your life. YES ... read more

Thanks to Ruth, (a friend of a friend) I was able to make an hour-long flight over the Milford Sounds area which is the Fjordland in NZ. The whole journey was amazing passing over high mountains, glaciers, hidden lakes, waterfalls and creeks. I would recommend anyone who's visiting to do this trip both by air, and then by cajak. You won't forget the experience. I have done so much in 4 days that I dind't think possible. I've been driving ever since I first came to Christchurch and I have seen amazing views that NZ has to offer. In one sense it's not much different from the green and nice in Scandinavia but still it's same same but different. After 1700 km in 4 days I'm proud of myself for seing the west, the south and ... read more

If you can't find it here, it hasn't been invented yet! Queenstown is the world center of adventures. You can do Bungy, Paragliding, Skydive, raceboat, rafting, canoe, MTB, fly etcc........ The city is pretty small but location is beautiful between mountains and a lake. Today I walked to the top of the mountain and had an amazing view over the city and the surroundings. I stayed there for a while and had lunch while going through the map and things to do. Then I saw it... THE END!! BLUFF = the south end of NZ... as far as the road goes and ends.. so of course I had to go there and try their world famous oysters that are the size of the palm of your hand. I've been driving 1100 km in 3 days and ... read more

We left in the evening to a beachcamp located near the Seven Mile Beach. We arrived late night and went to bed after a nice walk on the beach, some bonfire and some beers. The next morning started early at 7 am with breakkfast and then we were off to the beach for our first surflesson. It was very useful to get professional advises and just after one hour in the water I was already standing up. After this surfcamp I am now able to get up on the board and make some occasional turns. Now that I have the basic skills I will improve them on Bondi for the time I have left in Sydney :) I have put up some pictures from the camp as well.. hope you like it!... read more

My room overviews the sea and it's a great feeling to wake up to that every day. I also have bought some nice furniture that has made my room look amazing. There's alot of Feng Shui going on there my friends, I tell you. I will update more soon but have to go home for dinner now. Love you all... read more

Asia » Singapore March 14th 2005

Singapore is a nice city that offers anything a shopping-maniac would like. For me though, the highlights were the night-safari with Edgar (a good friend I met there). Other things I enjoyed was the food and the view from the New Asia Bar at the 70th floor.... read more

Finally I got offered a very nice room at Bondi. It's just a banana-throw from the beach and my room has two windows facing the water :) I'm really happy, and now I can start exploring around Sydney. Aloha... read more

Hey guys! Welcome to my travelblog :) This is the best way for me to keep all of my good friends updated. I'm at my uni right now getting my courses organised. I'm still looking for a place to stay, and I'm sick of being in the backpackers hostel!! I've been sharing room with 6-7 other people and it's really time to get my own room. The difficulty is that I' m trying to find a place on Bondi beach which is really popular so thats why. I will upload some pics here next time, so until then. I miss you all Benjamin... read more
