New market
Hahaha. A "new market" dating from 1551. And another day dense with new impressions/experiences. Wonderful. Did Jane ever go back for the leather purse or canvas bag?

Cross-cultural delights
What a wonderful day! Australians, Americans, Japanese, a Gypsy, and various Italians. Maybe that's one of the biggest benefits of travelling - finding a common sense of delight with people from all over the world.

Cross-cultural Delights
I agree that meeting people from around the world enhances our concept of a shared earth.

Magnificent
I have posted some of your magnificent pics in "Cathedrals, grand churches, mosques & places of worship" thread in the Photography Forum. check 'em out.

Places of Worship
Thanks, Dave! Didn't know this was possible. I appreciate the accolade. My response was slow because I was travelling. I like your photos, particularly of the mud palaces.

Assisi
This is one town we missed when we were in Tuscany. We'll have to catch it when we go back.

Real places
I'm sometimes brought up short by the realization that a place or people's name I've come to treat as just another word is really a place or group of people in the real world. Like Assisi, in St.-Francis-of; or Ephesians (& Ephesus), in Paul's-letter-to. What a great opportunity to touch that history.

Serendipity
What a tale of serendipity - for the Australians, finding an unexpected travel assistant in you; for you, finding an unexpected concert. Your love of Italy really comes through.

Most enjoyable read
I was reminded of our wonderful group holiday to Italy in 2016. We experienced a beautiful day in Assisi and enjoyed reading your blog that brought back identical memories .

Yes, cathedrals do abound, and all are beautiful or interesting or usually both.

Lovely views all round
Thanks for a peek into a place I'll never get to. Not to mention the reminder of the benefits of having a guide - the Professor who pointed out things you'd miss by yourself. Even if I see them, I don't likely get their significance. On to your next stop!

Not a new canyon
Quite an easy hike with good access. Try it one day.

Activity range
I like the range of activities in your program day - from hands-on cooking to historical/art touring. A nice mix.
