we have left the glorious Ireland for....England not to happy or impressed with England Anyway, we had a big gathering of the group the last night, I did well on my exams so I was able to not worry about that. most people came out and it was sad to see everyone go, I do miss them all. did get to see two yesterday and five more on Sunday so that will be nice. England=expensive, spent alot here and it wasn't on anything but rooms and transportation, send money it'll help me for Switzerland, transportation for the rest is pretty much set up. I will be happy to leave England, this has been the only time in my life that my sinuses have bothered me. today was actually a good day, we walked all the way ... read more

i did not enjoy Cork much, the food was a lot cheaper. The city itself was just so dirty and nasty. I still had fun though. On thursday, we went off on to our overnight trips. I got to go to Cobh (cove), and this place I liked. It was really good for a one night stay. A large natural harbor with islands in the distance, a lot of titanic stuff, and this massive cathedral. It was over 300 ft. tall and was amazing. Took 47 years to build. Had really good seafood too. Then the next day we went to the Jameson Distillery and that was pretty cool too. But the best part in my opinion was on the way there. We stopped at Fota Island, which is a wildlife reserve. Got to pet a ... read more

The night before we left Galway, me and 7 others went to Spiddel (not too far outside of Galway) for some traditional music (in a one road town). It was awesome. There were funny conversations, good music, and a really really drunk old guy that I got a video of his drunkeness, and some music. The next morning we left Galway, I was sad to leave it though. Cork is alot smaller, or at least we only have to walk a fourth the distance to downtown then in Galway. And the pints are ridiculously expensive, 4.50 at one place. So I haven't bought myself but 1 since being here (and I had to buy that one because it was ready and in my hand), though I have gotten a few free (without future repayment). There is ... read more

yeah yeah yeah here's a blog Yesterday, we went to connemora, it's a region with a bunch of different landmarks, the main one being the Kylemore Abbey, but we also saw some bogs and more ruins. There was a funny monument on the way there, I'll post pics instead of describing it. Today was the Cliffs of Moher, a ridiculously high cliff with trails along the side. Takes your breath away through a combination of being up really high, trekking, and the sight we also stop in this little area with a few ancient structures, but there was a gorge and I was able to climb down, up the other side, back down, and some actual rock climbing on a shear cliff (only about 10-15 ft. though), it was fun Tomorrow we will have class, play ... read more

Last night I was excited to watch the baseball game, we were going to host our fellow students in our apartment. It was to be a good night. Went back to An Pucan (my favorite local pub...and not because of the cheap pints, but the really good music), and it was really good music. More drama happened and for some reason I was put in it. Annoying stuff dealing with really mean drunks, but had to get the person back to the apartments safely. Doesn't matter really, not going near said person again (and the music was that good so I was in a good mood) plus there was the Baseball game coming soon. But wait! I'm ESPN America, so I am going to show a stupid mid season MLB game instead of Game 1 of ... read more

Saturday was the start of our first overnight trip. Me and 9 other students went to Athenry, about a 15 minute train ride from Galway. It was a small town, maybe as big as new roads in population (doubt it) but it is really condensed, everything is within walking distance, more so than in Galway. First thing we did was check in at the B&B, it was nice, had two donkey and Colleen the dog. Then we went to the B&B lady's suggestion to (one of) the local pubs to eat. Best place thus far. I had beef and Guinness casserole, meat could've been cut with my finger, the Guinness gravy was really good, the buttery potatoes, steamed carrots and peas were great. It was a really good lunch. After lunch we went to the local ... read more

Today was our day long trip to the Aran Islands. The boat ride is very rocky but the Island is amazing. We rented bikes for the day. I am extremely tired from that, the roads are up up up up down up up. But going downhill was alllloot of fun, was going really fast. On the Island there is this monument on the cliff side, and it was the best thing I've seen here. It was on a sheer cliff with the ocean crashing into it and we were really up there. It was a great view. But really really strong winds, gustav did not blow me around as much as this. and I did get some gifts It is 930 here, the sun is still up and it is bright as day, the suns up ... read more

Last night we saw a one man play. I thought it was pretty funny, everyone else was only amused by it. Today there is nothing planned so I'll be going back to an pucan tonight. Some people are going to a club, others are coming with me to watch the step dancers tonight at the same pub we went to Monday night as a group. They are jealous that their pub on Monday night was not as amazing as ours. we took a long walk yesterday afternoon and we passed the local football (yes football not soccer) stadium and a few of the grounds crew let us take pictures and yes I was in a few of them. we are about to go in town for a little while and check out a few shops... read more
