We had a lovely breakfast and spent the morning reorganising clothes and suitcases. Liz did a bit of ironing and we had coffee and lunch in our apartment. The afternoon we saved to look at Split. We learned that the bus to Split was in front of our Bed & Breakfast, so what a bonus. Because parking a car in this very crowded Europe, is like winning a three and sub in the3 lottery. Excitedly we made our way to the old town. It was in 295 AD- 1700 years ago, that the Roman Emperor, Diocletinus started the palace. In the seventh century, when the nearby inhabitants, took refuge in the Palace, during the invasion of AFARS and SLAVS, the Palace grew into a town.
