We certainly will! Funny thing is we were going to do much more train travel in our initial planning stages, but the few trains they have go nowhere near the towns so we dismissed them in favour of the buses! Have just had a much better bus experience than the last one so I hope that continues! Jx
Firefly Bus, Melbourne to Adelaide Just caught up on your latest adventures, very entertaining. Enjoy the sun, I'll think of you when watching Home and Away!
How's things down under Hello you two.
Hope all goes well with you as you absorb the Suns Ray's. You are missing some really bad weather over here, Cumbria has been decimated with 8inches of rain and Carlisle has suffered with really bad flooding, I feel so sorry for those poor people just before Christmas. Weather this side of the country has been nothing like that.
We are looking forward to Christmas with the boys and New Year at my brother's in Glossop. The twins are getting really excited and can't wait for Santa to arrive lol.
Have fun and enjoy
John and Kate xx
That weather sounds dreadful. I know we can't control the weather but I really do think we should be doing more to prevent the flooding. Was it Carlisle that was flooded a few years back? Dredge the rivers, I say! Have a wonderful Christmas the two of you. At least you won't have to detour via Bubwith this year! I'm missing our chats but at over £1 a minute to make and receive phone calls that won't be happening any time soon. Jx
Hilarious down under! Hi Joyce, your story telling just gets better and better! I have just been catching up on your blog, I have to tell you, you do keep me entertained! Especially your coach journey with the chatty ladies! It was hilarious from a readers point of view, not so from yours I'm sure! We've all had similar situations, when you could cheerfully throttle someone! Keep up the good work, can't wait to hear what happens next, hope you remembered to take the boxing gloves! Lots of love, Cina, xx
Always look on the bright side Ha! Sometimes our experiences just lend themselves to amusing stories. I'm a bit disappointed sometimes when I can't spin an amusing anecdote into a piece - that must have been a pretty boring experience. I try to see the funny side of things generally and we are having a lot of fun, which helps! Jx
Hahahaha - you made my morning! Glad to see you're having fun. I can see you were very restrained with your comments. I would have resorted to your last comments straight off!!! I now have visions of Curtain-Gate in my mind. And where was the gallant hero Steve in all of this? I ask you, your night in shining armour was probably asleep, or at least pretending!
Steve was being stoic but then he did manage to nod off for a bit. You can imagine what that did to my mood - I'm not one who likes to suffer alone! I felt like waking up the whole bus at one point, to stage a rebellion, but chickened out in the end and suffered in silence! What a wimp .... Jx
Sydney Your comments about Sydney reminded me of someone (I can't remember who!) saying that Australia was a long way to go for somewhere not very different. However I'm sure things will change once you get out of the city. Mx
Really enjoyed your comments about Singapore and it definitely sounds like somewhere I'd like to go. I was interested to read about them using the dual carriageways as emergency runways as they do something similar in Jordan. Because it's in an earthquake zone, certain stretches of the highways have been widened and marked out to use as emergency runways in case any of the airports (there are only 3 in the whole of the country) are damaged in an earthquake. We had our first snow here yesterday - only a sprinkling thank goodness! Mxx
I'd certainly recommend Singapore Margaret. Interesting what you say about Jordan also forward planning to use the roads as runways. Bet we didn't consider it when building the M25 and that wasn't so long ago! Jx
Steve - was it really you! We were beginning to think you were with her! Did she have her beer in a 'stubbie'. Jason said you need to get the lingo right before you travel the country! Hope you're having a great time. Remember to keep your better half under control - I know how difficult this can be ;-) Enjoy being down under, we certainly did. xxxx
It was!!! I managed to sneak behind her back and type a few words when she was't looking. One minute she's dead on her feet and then it's 'Oooooh, market!'. With renewed energy, away we go again. S
Mmmm, sponge pudding and custard Margaret and I have enjoyed a lovely meal in Welton. Highlight of the evening was sponge pudding and custard - how long since you've had custard???? Carry on having a lovely time now you've moved on. Looking forward to the next instalment. xx
Bubwith Hi J&S Enjoying the blogs they brighten up a wet November day. Now for the news from Bubwith as promised, everything fine at home and the grass is still growing, Well what did you expect this is Bubwith afterall.
Home sweet home We've had some rain over here too so it's been a reminder of home. Shame about the grass, though I seem to remember doing the last cut in November last year! Glad you are enjoying the blogs. They are fun to write, usually at the end of the day, if beer o'clock doesn't start too early! J
Enjoying the blogs Keep up the blogging - am enjoying them immensely, so much so that I laugh out loud in some parts and everyone looks at me as if I've lost the plot. Enjoy the next phase of your journey. Take care
Greetings from Jordan! Your journey to LP made my 4 hour coach trip yesterday from the Dead Sea to Aqaba seem quite luxurious despite the potholes, speed bumps, security checks etc! Great photos again! Mx
Pleased you made it! Your journey sounds as 'interesting' as ours! Seriously, it's these sorts of experiences that make travel memorable and I just love it! We're struggling to get regular wifi access now. Can you believe that just as you hit 21st century civilisation? Just goes to show ... Safe travels to you. Jx
In 2015 we took ourselves off on a long-anticipated six month trip around the world. It was a once in a lifetime trip to mark our retirement and fulfil the 'gap year' we never had in our youth. We had a wonderful time. In fact, it was so good that we thought there should be a sequel in 2018. So, twice in a lifetime then (but a bit shorter)....!... full info

Oh dear!
We'll definitely have to go on the Keighley Worth Valley Railway when you get back to restore your love of trains! Margaret x
