Korean Yorkies Yay! Yay! They do have Yorkies in Korea! Well done for spotting one and getting a photo! Sorry you didn’t have the same luck with the Yorkie pudding variety for your Christmas dinner! Well done though for doing a turkey Christmas dinner and mince pies for afters, how good are you? That’s pretty amazing! Loving the trains by the way! Keep on trucking! xxx
I know - I impress myself sometimes! I usually have the camera to hand but then it's always when I've stuffed it in my pocket to wipe my nose or something that the perfect photo just passes me by! Ah well, you win some, you lose some ... Jx
Merry Christmas Hi Joyce, glad to see you are still enjoying your fantastic holiday, thank you so much for letting us all come along and enjoy your adventures with you, I really look forward to reading your next blog, I think I once said you could write a book on your travels and I truly think you could! You are such a good writer, so informative but with amusing little stories as well so that it’s also entertaining, great stuff! Well, Christmas is almost hear, so hope you both have a great one! And hope you manage to find some Christmas cheer, hic, hic! A very happy New Year too, with plans for new adventures hopefully! Love Cina, xxx
Hi Cina
Sorry, didn't see this until I got your e-mailed prompting me to look! Glad you're enjoying the blogs - it's good to hear. I do try to include something amusing that's happened along the way but am never sure I get the balance right between our experiences and the places we visit. I take the view that Google can tell everyone about the place and the sights but there's only me to tell our story! Hope your Christmas has been wonderful. Wishing you all a happy and HEALTHY new year! Jx
Oooooh, sausages! You know me so well. And you'll be pleased to hear Christmas dinner this time round was Turkey, with veg and gravy and stuff (that's stuff, not stuffing!). I had to cook it myself but had the equipment to do it so a bit better planning this time. Couldn't get any Yorkshire puddings though and I wasn't up to making them from scratch! Oh, and mince pies for dessert - get me! Happy Christmas. Jx
Hello Hi Joyce and Steve, I am really enjoying reading your blogs, you could give John Grisham a run for his money ! I think you are very brave and also barmy. Keep reporting.... Love Lynn
Thank you so much for all of the updates!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing journey you two have been on! I personally feel exhausted just reading about it! Your poor little legs must be worn down to stumps Joyce! But what sights and adventures you have been on and seen! And what characters you have come across too! And of course you have still manage a good few dogs along the way too? I was so pleased to hear from you, I was beginning to get a little concerned at the lack of contact but wondered if it was due to internet access, so it was a relief to get all of your news and find you were having such a fantastic time! Be safe and continue to enjoy and have fun!
Hi! Hi Dina
Yes, it was all a bit 'full on' at times but what can you do? There's a balance to be found between seeing and doing as much as possible while recognising that you can't do/see it all. We just don't always know where that line is!! Still having a great time though. Jx
That's odd Hi Lynn
Lovely to hear from you. I've done quite a few blogs since 'Amman to Petra's and I think you must not have received the automatic notifications? Makes me wonder who else? I'm posting this here to catch those people's attention too, to alert them, but I'll drop you a personal email as well. We're well and having a fabulous time! J

Pierce Brosnan? I'm not sure I see the likeness myself, but each to their own! Glad you're having a good time, sounds a wonderful experience. Keep on with the hills, it's good for your wellbeing ;-)
Me neither but he won't let me forget it! The hills are a problem, but the steps are even worse. Big steps, little steps, narrow steps, steep steps ... And they only seem to go in one direction - up!
Horses So glad the horses and animals are looked after and cared for. I would have done exactly the same as you and rather walked myself that have them carry me. But lovely that they were rotated etc. Wow! where do you both get the energy from? I am exhausted just reading it. It is wonderful reading the blog though and definitely need some pics. particularly include a pic of Steve - if he is a Pierce Brosnan look alike!!!
Can't see the likeness myself Jackie but I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder! I do think he's quite handsome though! Have got a stinky cold now, so the energy levels are diminishing .... Still having fun though. Jx
Steep? The Siq steep? I take it you didn't go up to the Monastry or The Place of High Sacrifice? Now they're very steep to get to with hundreds of steps. Too steep for donkeys to get to the top! I'm pleased the horses are still there and haven't been replaced by golf buggies or little tourist trains as was being rumoured when I was there. It sounds like you enjoyed Jordan despite the 'steepness'. I'm sure you'll be going to some steeper places as you move on!

PS I'm having a good time in Malta. It's been lovely weather so far but rain is forecast for tomorrow. I'm going on a boat trip - typical!
I think the problem I had with it was that it was described as an 'easy' route, which was a bit misleading. At least the route to the Monastery was described as 'hard/difficult' or words to that effect, which would probably make you think twice about taking a suitcase with you! Yes, I agree golf buggies would detract from the experience! I've just read that tourists have just had to be evacuated from Petra due to heavy rain/flooding so we were there at just the right time, luckily. Glad to hear you're enjoying Malta - hope you didn't get wet from either the rain or the waves on your boat trip. Jx
It's over! I'm pleased you continued to post your blogs to the end of your trip even though you've now been home for a few weeks. Another good post as always but I was surprised by your final thoughts on New York as they were so different from what I felt about NY. I found it to be less busy, quieter and cleaner than many capital cities much to my surprise. The people were friendlier than I expected too. I don't remember seeing piles of rubbish anywhere or any really bad traffic. Perhaps September's a better time to go! Looking forward to seeing lots more photos soon! Mx
Isn't it strange how there can be two completely different experiences of the same place? That's travel for you! The traffic was awful while we were there with Times Square completely gridlocked on occasion - maybe there were roadworks or something when we were there? As you'll have seen from the photos the rubbish was piled high - maybe the bin men were on a go slow ... who knows. We did really like it though - we'd like to go back so that says something! Jx
In 2015 we took ourselves off on a long-anticipated six month trip around the world. It was a once in a lifetime trip to mark our retirement and fulfil the 'gap year' we never had in our youth. We had a wonderful time. In fact, it was so good that we thought there should be a sequel in 2018. So, twice in a lifetime then (but a bit shorter)....!... full info
