Exciting experiences Your trip to the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam looks fantastic and it sounds like you've really enjoyed it. Another place you've put on my 'to do' list.
I enjoyed it Janet so I'm glad you enjoyed reading about it. I kept looking out for the rich and famous but didn't see anyone I knew. On the plus side, I didn't see any of the beautiful people I thought might be on every street corner either, which was a blessing really or I would have felt totally inadequate! And get you - cleverly inserting the 'Bowie star' into your comment. I have no idea how you did that. This blog thing keeps throwing up surprises ... ! Jx
Hairy McClairy from Donaldson's Dairy Well I never! Had always assumed those books were written by a Scot! Your blog is teaching me loads. As for Puke I can visualize you laughing now - you are such a giggled!
Glad you're keeping up! I think I must be overloading everyone as I'm trying to post a blog every other day just to catch up! I can't believe where the time has gone. Hairy passed me by too I'm afraid - I'd never heard of him previously ... ! Jx
Parcels! Two more parcels arrived yesterday - no. 5 and one unnumbered. Still from Australia. You're going to need an house extension for all your mementoes! Be warned that the US post can be a bit erratic - I received a xmas card this morning from a friend who lives in S. Carolina! Mx
Glad they're making it through, but a bit like buses all coming together! Maybe they travelled across on the same ship? Thanks for all your tips and hope your postman isn't looking at you too strangely ... Jx
When are we going to see some pictures of the travellers - forgotten what you look like! Hope you're still enjoying your travels - mine start very soon. Keep up with the blogging, it keeps us entertained. And well done on going knee deep in the water - what an achievement!!! xx
Ha! There'll be no photos of us floating around on the internet, thank you! I'm a very private person, as you know - well apart from telling the whole world about this trip that is! If you can tell it's me, it's not going in the blog! Seriously, I've got lots of unpublished ones of us to bore you with when we get home. Jx
Tin Can Bay Well you really do come up with some funny place names who on earth thought tcb would be a good name for a place. Having said that what a lovely place. Loved the stories about the dolphins I hadn't realised they lived so long but am glad they do. I think animals have so much to teach us and if we lived more like they do the world would be a better place.
Don't know what happened to the emails but you can imagine what was in them! Wont bother sending any more as they don't appear to be working.
I feel bad 'cos my replies are so short but nothing much happens here. The big news for me is that it's not raining today (yet) sun blazing through the window sure it wont last all day but it's nice for now.
Take care of yourselves. Love Anne xxx
It's all in a name! Apparently Tin Can Bay is an anglicised version of 'tuncanbar' which is an Aboriginal word for some marine species or other. You live and you learn! At least you're getting blog messages through. Good to hear from you. Jx
In 2015 we took ourselves off on a long-anticipated six month trip around the world. It was a once in a lifetime trip to mark our retirement and fulfil the 'gap year' we never had in our youth. We had a wonderful time. In fact, it was so good that we thought there should be a sequel in 2018. So, twice in a lifetime then (but a bit shorter)....!... full info
