Hi well fancy it daring to rain! We have been hearing about fires and floods and weather much the same as we are having really. Lots of well known people are dying here - Terry Wogan has gone now and lots of people are wondering who will be next. Hope you got my e-mail I kept looking to see if you had read it but didn't think you had, Can,t wait for the next instalment hope the weather is better for you. Lots of love Anne xxx
I feel exhausted just reading what you are getting up to! I believe Joyce you will be celebrating the big birthday while down under so eat, drink and be merry. Have a lovely birthday. Love C & K x
Thanks Chris. Yes, I am and it's here already on our clock! Can't believe I'm so old. Maybe I'll delay it to UK time ..... Still, there's worse ways to spend a birthday! We're still having a fantastic time. Hope Karen enjoyed New York. Jx
Just luurrrve your stories! Hi Joyce and Steve, Byron Bay sounds wonderful and just perfect for the two of you, it seems you had a blast from the past there! And a really great time, I read out your blog to Keith and Michelle, we all agree, we can't wait for your book to come out! Continue to enjoy and have fun, and have a great birthday next week, lots of love, Cina, xx
Sometimes the stories just flow! Sadly, I'm so far behind on this blog I can't always remember what happened. It's an age thing, I'm sure, so can only get worse! Jx
Kookaburra
Sings...........................
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry Merry King of the bush is he
Laugh Kookaburra, Laugh Kooaburra
How gay your life must be!!!
ERM - I think that one must have passed me by Janet! Mustang Sally, on the other hand, (sings) all you wanna do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride ..... Jx
The Above Well that sounds like a lovely place. Greyhound buses sound like a real joy turning up on time never be known over here (must be the bus driver's fault) David Bowie was a real shock and for the whole day here whatever programme was on tv they talked about Bowie most of the programme. His ex-wife is in celebrity big brother at the moment and apparently is staying in there cos she doesn't want the press annoying her! Good reason for staying in the house or what. As ever I hope you get this response I am never confident. Lots of love Anne xxx
It was just super and the Greyhounds have been great. A fantastic way to see the country and to meet some nice people. Yes, so sad about Bowie. He impacted on a lot of people, including me! Love Joyce x
Good point! The sunshine gives everything a different hue. I wished I'd nipped back to our room for nail polish or something, though, just to leave my mark! Jx
Having a good time Your stay in Port Macquarie sounds really good, especially visiting the Koalas, they are so cute! I'm glad you saw dolphins too, that would be right up your street (whales next???). Your trip so far is sounding fabulous and something to brighten up the very cold dark days that we are having over here at the moment. Keep up with the Greyhounds, despite the early mornings and enjoy the next stage of your trip. xx
It was lovely indeed Janet. I always ask myself if I could live in these places when I visit and the answer for PMac was definitely yes, though they'd have to accept me as a volunteer working at the koala hospital!! Jx
Yes it was completely different! Just goes to show how a revisit can change your views. Sadly, we don't always have the time (or the inclination!) to go back . to places. Jx
Between a rock and a hard place We could have done with that campervan all those years ago! It's Christmas day here so Merry Christmas, what a way to spend it.
It's Christmas - for some of us Hi Val. It's great to hear from you and I'm pleased you are enjoying the blogs. It is already Christmas Day here in Oz (9.30 am), though you'd never know it. It's all a bit understated. Have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for a happy new year. Right, we're off to catch a ferry down the river, if it's running. Take care. Jx
PS This message (or similar) might show up twice. Don't know what happened to the first one ....
It's quite a neat town now. I didn't realise it was so long since you were there - I thought you went on your most recent trip. Maybe you didn't have the fly problem back then either!! Lucky you, if so. Jx
Loving the Olgas I'm glad you loved the Olgas, we did too. It's been lovely to see the places you've been as it's brought back lovely memories of our trip to the Red Centre. And above all - a convert to motorhoming. Something for the future maybe, along with cruise control and automatic gears!!! How many right turns did you have to make I wonder?
Yes, I did like the Olga's best but Steve preferred the rock. All comes down to the individual in the end. I later went off cruise control and automatic gears - you'll have to wait for the blog on that one! Good fun all the same. Not too many right turns and no other traffic to consider anyway so phew! Jx
In 2015 we took ourselves off on a long-anticipated six month trip around the world. It was a once in a lifetime trip to mark our retirement and fulfil the 'gap year' we never had in our youth. We had a wonderful time. In fact, it was so good that we thought there should be a sequel in 2018. So, twice in a lifetime then (but a bit shorter)....!... full info
