Really enjoyed your comments about Singapore and it definitely sounds like somewhere I'd like to go. I was interested to read about them using the dual carriageways as emergency runways as they do something similar in Jordan. Because it's in an earthquake zone, certain stretches of the highways have been widened and marked out to use as emergency runways in case any of the airports (there are only 3 in the whole of the country) are damaged in an earthquake. We had our first snow here yesterday - only a sprinkling thank goodness! Mxx
