We flew to Singapore with Air Asia; the flight left on time at 9.50 am and took about 1 hour 20 mins. The time change meant we landed at Changi Airport at lunchtime. Really enjoyed your comments about Singapore and it definitely sounds like somewhere I'd like to go. I was interested to read about them using the dual carriageways as emergency runways as they do something similar in Jordan. Because it's in an earthquake zone, certain stretches of the highways have been widened and marked out to use as emergency runways in case any of the airports (there are only 3 in the whole of the country) are damaged in an earthquake. We had our first snow here yesterday - only a sprinkling thank goodness! Mxx

I'd certainly recommend Singapore Margaret. Interesting what you say about Jordan also forward planning to use the roads as runways. Bet we didn't consider it when building the M25 and that wasn't so long ago! Jx
