Hello John & Karen
Great to hear from you. Have you had some great holidays too in the last few years? We cannot believe it is coming up FOUR YEARS since we cycled from Brugge to Paris. Where does the time go!!

Have a wonderful time you two. I'm just back from Japan so I can't be all that jealous that u r going o/s now. I'm currently sorting thru 3768 photos taken over 24 days in South Korea and Japan. Hopefully by the time u get home I'll have finished my photobook. Cheers and take good care of yourselves; crazy stuff is happening all over the world. Caroline

Photo books
Hi Caroline, I will be very impressed if you have a photo book of South Korea and Japan completed by the time I get back. I am sooooo far behind with my photo booking! Hopefully I will start to catch up in the second half of the year?!

happy holidays!
Hope you have a great time. I'm looking forward to some photos of the new hairstyle......

Ha, ha, I've been experimenting with actually styling my hair rather than just blow drying it!! We rarely photograph each other - just the fabuous sights that we are seeing - but, you never know, a photo of me might sneak into the blog.

Congratulations
Hi Tracey, Glad you enjoyed your Tassie trip. I enjoyed following you around. We all liked the Wicked cheese too! CONGRATULATIONS on your first car. Most people start with something a whole lot less flash so it was worth the wait.

Lovely photos.
Hi Tracey and Bernie, you lucky travellers - fabulous weather, perfect for photographs. But what are you doing with all those wonderful photos? Perhaps I'll have to teach you 'photobooks'. The finished product makes for a wonderful coffee table book. I hope to catch up with you after I get back from the UK mid-September. Au revoir until then. Caroline

Plenty of time to make photo books in retirement?!
Hi Caroline, earlier this year we took a week off between Easter Monday and Anzac Day and I managed to photo book our Route 66 adventure from 2012! I used Blurb and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Hopefully I will have time to create a few more photo books now I am retired. Bon voyage for Saturday. I hope you have a fabulous time and I look forward to catching up and comparing photo books in September. ?T

Another one retired, YAHOO !!!
Well done Tracey, welcome to the glorious "Age of Retirement". Your photos are wonderful, especially the panoramas - you'll have to show me how to do them. I'm leaving for the UK on 9 August, back mid-September, so I hope to get to see you end September. I'll call you and arrange to meet. Cheers, Caroline

Panoramic photos made easy
Thank you for your compliments on Bernie's panoramic photos. We have to confess that taking these panoramas is just about foolproof with our Sony RX 100 compact camera. Yes, we travel with a digital SLR camera each and a compact! Three cameras between two of us is probably a bit excessive, but it does give us greater flexibility. ?T

nearing the end?
I guess you must be nearing the end of your journey at this stage? You have covered a lot of ground so far and experienced some beautiful locations. The falls look much more spectacular at this time of the year so braving the cold makes for excellent photography. It is chilly here too and the weather was wild and wet yesterday. Not as bad today thankfully. Congrats on your official retirement Tracey. Seems you already have some great ideas for how to spend your time. I can imagine you as a museum guide! Would give you access to lots behind the scenes as well as the traveling exhibition! Enjoy the rest of your time... love Janet

Congratulations our your retirement!!!
And your NEW CAR. Sparkling wine in a hot tub is just the thing to do. I hope the duck doesn't have too much of a hangover. I also retires after 33 years...and have been busy ever since.

Big Steven

Hi again
What lovely blue skies... Great photo's and i haven't unpacked my new camera yet!.. i would say a juvenile Black-tailed Gull ;) [not the pacific gull..] and not the gorgeous and rare bird, the blue hooded babbler lark who is equally comfortable in many habitats, is a robust, short tailed bird with a flair for feathering her own nest with style. Have fun.. xox ;

Wendy, I'm sorry but I'm confused, wasn't that Tracey in the blue hooded coat rather than a plover?

Hey Tracey & Bernie
Hi travelers, What a lovely photo of Hooded Plovers (or Dotterel) !! Love it.. And you did not tell me your were going to the old Kearney stomping ground, Richmond .. The Kearney's feature is some of the information at the Gaol, ( and no William and his brother Thomas were born free although their mum Catherine was a convict) and they are buried in the St Luke"s Cemetary, Richmond, but it looked way too cold for you guys to be exploring cemeteries!!! Take care in this extreme weather and say Hello to all my relatives over there :) wendy xxx (latin Name : Thinornis rubricollis not to be confused with the Charadrius dubius)
