Keep the blog coming! Hi Silvia, Just got back from a daytrip to Macau and have read your escapades while waiting for a friend to pick me up from my hotel. Looking forward to reading the next installments! Mike
mmm yummy bath houses In the Capital of Ukraine, at the "resort" beach and wooded island in the center of the city river. At the Public Free toilets, the toilets (like seats in the ground) have long since overflowed, never is toilet paper free (here non existent) and already basically, you just go wherever you want on the floor - maybe aim near a wall ... It was so beyond gross, that somehow, it was enjoyeable and more relaxing ... yeah ... I am amazed by how well kept the people appear on the streets, but THIS is what they come from ... VERY interesting to hear about Bolivia - did you know the women wrestle? Hopefully that husband was toughing her up for her match after work
Fascinating From Colourful to Fasc(ary, too!)inating! Silvia, you've taken us into yet another place, and another culture. Take care, and enjoy at the same time. Your insightful commentary means we can be with you in spirit at least, and thank you again for sharing. Look forward to reading again in four days' time. X

Stay safe and yes when you find somewhere you like and feel safe always stay a little longer, then you are a true traveler and not just a tourist, especially if you get to meet some locals.

Charlie from Peanuts? Haha, I've got this vision of you wandering around with a big backpack - trustee Lonely Planet book in one hand, Lufthansa safety pillow in the other... :p
It's interesting to hear views about the cities from a totally different perspective, as I think I mentioned to you before not too long ago I read a book about someone who rode around South America on his motorcycle. I think he mentioned the cities you're visiting (or they could have been cities with similar names). His experiences with the South Americans re language were different though - he says when they saw him making an effort to speak the local language they were all very friendly and tried their best to speak slower and correct him where he went wrong. Maybe times have changed though, and more than likely he was only talking about the tiny in-the-middle-of-nowhere towns, and not large cities...
