See! See?! The USA is really nice despite what everyone says! Georgetown in DC holds a special place for me too, at dusk it has a really charming appeal. Funny you went to all those museums, I could think of a mutual acquintance you'd bump into that works in one of them. ;) Next...the BigApple! (TO is only 1hr flight away...hintHINT)
Back to the USA Well Sylv, you certainly have had a lot of wonderful experiences - good and bad; lots of exercise and lots of, um, eye candy. We've had a ball travelling with you through S.Am. I've always wanted to do it! Be careful, but be happy, in the next leg of your journey and do keep in touch. We look forward to all your blogs. X Nigel and Margie
Sao Paulo??? Hard to believe that some of the poorest countries in the world are just next door? You didn't pass the shanty (favela) part of town then.
Rio is not dirty I didnt go to the non-touristy parts of Rio, since I was told it would mean Im looking for trouble. But it wasnt dirty ... I mean ... not especially dirty that I had to mention (not like Paraguay or Bolivia) .. you found it that way Chris? Im going to Sao Paolo on Monday, Im sure that will be dirtier.
hi silvia... WOW!!! your really having a big trip... i knew it was going to be long, but now that i really see all your doing it suprises me more and more... i see your really having a great time, although it´s not always easy to manage in unknown places... i´m now here in mexico city, and this is really crazy because i got here and the flu epidemic had just started... now the city is in a complete paranoid state... i almost can´t go out from my girlfriend´s place... before this i visited monica in boston and that was really cool
have a nice day and continue enojoying your stay in rio (if your still there)
besos

condoricosas most cities have a central bus station for all interurban buses, with a few exceptions, notably, two of the cities you visited. just bad luck i guess. happy trails!
All the Aussies love been told there home rocks Hi again Sil.
Great to hear you keep on getting to new places and experiences. When your home everyone will have to head out to Moreton to go sand boarding - then you can show us your skills ;)

Mexican Buses Some places in mexico have 1 terminal, others have 2 (north and south) and again others have a terminal per Bus Line. And the 1 terminal places all had separate counters per bus line (like and airport).
happy times Hello again; nice to hear your spirits right back up where they belong. Happy again after the chile bus reception of three days before. Do always remember when you're down and blue there's lots of friends here in Oz who care for you! Keep on keeping cheerful, Syl; your blogs are fascinating. We've driven to Sydney to see Edward and Thamsin (Margie's on holidays) and they say hello, too! X
You finally got more 'WOW Factor' Hi Silvia, Sounds like you really are happy and I am glad for two reasons...
1 - that you are once again the happy traveler
2 - that you were so happy when you were in Australia!
Obviously hot dry places work for you. I love reading your blog and I am so living vicariously through you right now!
Cheers...B
Exciting Trips - Happy Easter Hey Silvia, u really are on an adventure. Stay safe and enjoy every moment of being able to have time by yourself~
Happy Easter ~
Happy Easter Hi girl, you're having too much fun! Happy Easter, and make sure you have a clear head before contemplating any more Peruvian proposals. If they only come up to your armpits, don't choose any bald ones... after all you'll be the one looking down on them forever afterwards. Oakbank races today was a record crowd - 47,150 or so, so there was a big party in your home town. Now for Easter Monday! Glad you've had a rest, Silvia, and hope you are heading into more happy travels. Keep safe, and thanks for so many interesting blogs. X Nigel
I would just like to add that I am deliriously pleased and proud of myself for getting on the bus out of La Paz. One day later and I would be stuck (like Rhian is now), since there are national road blocks and riots in Peru. If I would've stayed and gone to Lake Titicaca first, I wouldn't have been able to do Machu Pichu. :-)
complaining! do some coke, eat some raw meat, drink the local booze and report back. sounds like you would be better off in an austrian convent, no? miss u hurry back home!
Indiana Aue! Or should I say Lara whatever her name was: Silver mines and dynamite! Where next will your adventures lead. Back to school eh, senorita, and you've learnt a new lingo. Looked back and found beaut photos of the Lagunas Verde and Colorado now added to previous blogs. What pretty vistas. Howdy Joel, too. Cheers Nigel. PS Thamsin had a blast in Canadian snow and the US; now back in Sydney. And Edhas a new job.
I love that you add comments - i like reading them, and it shows I´m not ´talking´ to nobody.
Fri - Potosi (Bolivia)
Sat - La Paz (Bolivia)
Mon - Puna (Peru)
Then: Lake Titikaka (Peru), Run up Machu Pichu and Inka Trail, then down to Chile : Iquique, San Pedro, Valparaiso, Santiago and then fly to Rio De J (Brazil) which reminds me, I need to arrange a ticket!
Going on an overdue round the world trip to Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Washington DC, New York, Japan, China and India.... full info
