Buenos Aires was rather a family gathering (2 aunts, 1 uncle, 12 cousins and more than 17 2nd cousins).
On Saturday I went sailing on the river between Uraguay and Buenos Aires, and christened this trip by getting sun burned in true Silvita style.
On Sunday, I went to a Tango show, which was very elaborate and colourful. I found the music to be much nicer than the dance.
I left Buenos Aires yesterday for Rosario. As I sat on the bus, listening to 3 Doors Down´s appropriately titled song ´Landing in London´, I realised that I am starting this episode alone and gelt a mixutre of excitement and complete alone-ness.
The bus station was utter chaos. I thought that the stations in Mexico were chaotic - that was nothing compared to this! The buses, on the other hand, are sheer luxury. The seats are as wide as in business class flights, and you could seat another person in front of you - there is so much leg room. I paid 58 pesos for trip since I bought the ticket at the counter. The girl next to me managed to pay 15 pesos only because she bought the ticket on the bus. I´ll have to try that next time.
I am now in Rosario, which is a decent sized city - I would know, I walked 4km from the bus station to the hostel with my backpack. At the hostel, I immediately befriended 2 Argentine girls who took me to a salsa club.
Lesson learned: Don´t learn spanish from McDonald´s advertisements. Los ´Wochos´ is actually ´Semana´
