Missing all the fun! I really enjoy your blog. It's nice to see Jeff and Judy, I thought they left last year to move somewhere else in Florida . Hope to see you in February !
Walmart? No Back at the ranch we had a heavy rain, river is up. RE: "only at Walmart" this is why Lulu and I want to go to Dillards!! Give Cory the red car!! I loved Celebration, shall we move there?? Happy Trails.
Wow I saw videos on FB of Wellsville, Belmont and Bo,Ivan. Horrible. I called Mary Kay to check on the Shongo creek...miraculously it held. Yay! Ha Ha...you'll get use to Walmart and all of its finds! Bale your boat fast if you have to. See what happens with warmer weather! Stay in touch. Love your messages! ?
The Mall at last Well I have packed and unpacked and now that we are here all you want to do is walk, well Lulu and I want to go shopping so when you said the Mall we were really looking forward to that trip, the movie was good but we didn't get to see the really good stores. You know that Wal Mart doesn't do it for Lulu and me. Let's go to Dillards and shop the sale, now that is a good time. 6 degrees back at the ranch, and we heard you weather is looking grim. Stay warm and Stay in touch. Happy Trails.
Good Laugh You make me laugh, Colleen. I love your wit...so good. I'll send you some store photos from Artegon. It is a very unique group of shops. You would like it. Yes, we are struggling with this cold weather...not that we aren't used to it but we plan for different down here. Oh, well...suck it up and just deal with it...right? Supposed to be in the 80's by weeks end. Now that's what we want. We could have stayed home and saved $$$$ if we wanted winter weather. Furnaces running, electric blanket on high, extra blankets piled on....we're okay in bed. Catch you next time around. Stay inside when it gets too bad. Lulu misses you.
We Have Arrived Happy you're settled in-I got back to NC in time for the ice, sleet, snow storm overnite!!! RDU closed today- Atlanta closed last nite @ 7pm-I flew from Daytona and got my connection in Atlanta by 1 min-2 people were loaded after me and the doors closed!!!! Whew-or I would still be there because today the roads in NC are closed!!! Timing is everything- so yesterday it was 76 in Fla-today it is 28 in NC and snowing!!! Happy New Year!!! D
Schedule WOW....that was some trip home. And then to get home and land in NY weather. Actually, we are only 40 degrees with wind today so it doesn't seem too good for Florida. Covered up with blanket right now. I think we only saw a small section of the Villages....it's huge but really nice. I'm still in shock about Andy. Tell Joan we send our sympathy and hope she recovers from her illness soon. So much to deal with! Stay in touch.
The Villages Glad you made it to the Sunshine State! Have friends in The Villages-Jackie/John Bird-She was my roommate @ Alfred way back when plus we went to Kenmore West Hs together also-Haven't seen them in many yrs-Enjoy!
Hi Gwen Good to hear from you. So far I have GAINED one pound since walking.....not good. I may have to stop it if this is the direction I'm going in. No walking, no eating.....what's next? How is Bob doing? Take care. ❤❤❤❤
More Memories Cory... the picture of you and Sandy with baby Loren 2 or 3 blogs ago reminded me of the (I think) 2 times I visited you when you were at U B and I was at GCC. The first time as we were going out on the town you said we need to stop by the pool hall so you could make some spending money hustling pool. We were there about an hour and sure enough you walked out with a nice wad of dough. Shades of "fast Eddie" from the Hustler movie with Paul Newman. The second visit was soon after you and Sandy were married. I slept on the couch in the small apartment you mentioned in your blog. I remember we had lunch outside the nest day in a place that was like a MacDonald's. It may have been called Carrol's. It was the first time I had been to a fast food place. I also remember you were working full time on the night shift at the steel mill and carrying a full load at U B. You were the first of us guys to get married. That was cool. Also is it just me when I saw the blog picture of Loren grown up she reminded me a lot of your sister Gwen. Glad you are safe in Florida. Happy New Year!
Bob It is great hearing from you. I treasure all the great memories we have shared over the years. Two little guys who grew up as friends and left deep footprints in our travels together. Have a Great New Year, my friend. Cory
Arrived at Last. Okay, we have arrived and Lulu and I are so happy because the road video made us dizzy!! So lets get on with the trip and have some fun in the sun. I am all unpacked and ready to play. Where shall we go first??? Back at the ranch the temps over night were 20 something and about 6inches of snow, so you picked a good time to start on your trip. See you on the net and Happy Trails.
Eagerness Colleen, you unpacked too soon. We are in Willdwood/Ocala area only through tonight. Pack your bags cause we leave here tomorrow to FINALLY arrive at Tropical Palms tomorrow. You're cold and so are we! Yesterday I wore a t-shirt under a sweatshirt under my winter jacket and I was still cold! Are we really in Florida, Toto? Our friends reassure us that it is warming right up by tomorrow......we'll see. Running furnaces and under warm blankets....our life in Florida so far. Keep your seat on the bus....we are going places!

Glad you found the Villages! So happy you were able to get out and about and you WERE at the Villages. And I told you we were cold, burrrr.. warming up a bit today tho... so tell Lulu, if the Ponds Rejuvenating Cream isn't working for her, to try Chlorox Wet Wipes!!!!! They work wonders on my skin and leave it with that fresh Lemony smell (tee hee). That should get the dirt off her w/no problem.. So what's up for tonight's festivities? Golf cart racing, chess, bed by 9:00 like us? Love ya Mike and MJ
Yes...good idea Your suggestion of the Clorox wipes is good....I'll try that. If it works for you, it will work for Lulu. We are probably going to do the last activity of your list for New Years celebrating. Why change our bedtime routine now? I leave the TV on in case we wake up but that seldom happens. Happy New Year, dear friends. Love, S & C
Don't put the Winter clothes away yet! Only got to 55* here in Kissimmee today and we're freezing our butts off!!!!! It's supposed to warm up to the low 70's tomorrow and mid 80's by Sunday, so not too bad of a Florida welcome. If you're truly at or near the "Villages", that's FL's premier retirement community. (you can google the address), It's its own little city with everything from shopping to theaters to chain restaurants, bars and grills w/nightly entertainment. There are drug stores, Arnold Palmer and Nancy Lopez designed golf courses. Prices range from mid to high end. If you can get there and spend some time, it migh make the KOA stay NOT seem so bad.. have a safe and restful rest of your trip, only 2 more days.
We are freezing I think if you read tonight's blog....we followed your suggestions before you made them. You are right....really neat place.....we are used to the cold but didn't plan to bring it along with us. Turn your fires up so we can get out of it soon! See you!
Hot breath Kate, I'll be blowing my hot breath up in your direction trying to send some warmth. If that doesn't work, throw another log on the fire. Lulu is so happy that you are in the seat next to her on this journey.
We used to live in the Western part of NY, close to PA border. Have been married 59 years. We have four fabulous children (Lory, Kim, Cory, Tim). They have given us nine terrific grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. All families live in N.Y. We are retired...Cory was VP of Human Resources...Sandy was an R.N. We now live in our 2008 Phaeton RV full time and are loving it! In 2012 we lost our beloved dog, Chip - our chocolate lab. He was our dear traveling companion. He was almost 13 years old. His memory will travel with us wherever we go. We winter in Florida at Tropical Palms RV Park in ... full info
