Idea of visiting Raigad was being tossed up few times in last few months but nothing concrete was getting worked out.Come December which is low business and high on holidays, i pre planned a weekend off in office and visit a nearby gateaway.Few resorts were shirt listed but none of them could materialise b'use of few uncertainities.Finally as if it was destined, suddenly just 2 days ahead of actual travel, all logistics got worked out.Saturday to Monday, stay at Motel Visava, extended family..and we were on our way!! Its been only couple of months since our last family holiday to south of Maharashtra.But then i had mandy scheduled in November during Diwali.It was good opppourtunity for yet another family outing.We discussed and concluded to go.After a few deliberations, we zeroed out on Ooty & Mysore.Main reasons were seasons of the year.We wanted to experience the best winter of the season one can get in India and whats better than Nilgiry Mountains.Since air fare contributes maximum to your travel cost, we fixed that first well in advance.The route was Mumbai-Coimbatore-Bangalore-Mumbai.In fact there is no alternate if you are visiting ooty & Mysore from Mumbai.Post that i searched for the stay and after a lot of research using Trip Advisor and other travelportals, picked up below 2 which were slated as The Best in respective locations. ... read more

July 2010 intra month - I get a msg that my global managers want me to visit Delaware to discuss progress on some of the current projects going on in Financial Control space. The visit which was originally planned for a week gets extended by another week. Dates are finalised as Aug 9-20th. After some tussle with Travel desk finally I get booked on Etihad on Mumbai-Abu Dhabi-Newyork-Abu Dhabi-Mumbai route on business class. Like last time, this time also Vinayak comes home to see me off. (He didnt came to the airport thugh as it was pretty late in night!!). This visit to Singapore in May 2010 was totally unplanned & not thought of. One of my direct who was planned to visit Singapore to ovsersee one of the critical migration project, expressed his inability to gp over at last moment & I had to go.It was only a week before the planned dates, my travel was confirmed. So everything was last minute but I think I got my logistics placed well.Saturday May 15th direct flight from Mumbai to Singapore on Jet Airways & return travel on May 25th in evening. Another comforting factor was business class travel. Vinayak came to see me off at my place & he left after saying goodbye to me at the Mumbai airport.
