Amey was in Mumbai with his family after a long gap & everybody was approaching Alibaug, where he was based. His alibaug home. And thingsworked out nicely.Prakash Kaka decided to have a Satyanarayan Pooja on this nice occassion. Its a reguler yearly ritual at his place but this time since Amey was returning, I think he decided to push it few months ahead in December. He was hoping that he will sit for the pooja which ultimately he didnt so Kaka & Kaki only had to sit. Myself & Nam,two of us left Mumbai on a friday.Distance of approx.125 kms was reached in around 3-3.5 hours.Navin,Anuja, Bhushan who are Amey's maternal cousins were already there. All of us shared same age group, between 25-30 except Bhushan who is the juniormost among us. I think he was in his sweet 16.When we ... read more

Singapore Surprise! Atlast it happened! Our first abroad visit together..Me & Sonu! Its been five trips for me & one for her so far, but on none of them we were together. Its been our wish ever since to travel together on a foreign location & finally it worked out in Oct 2007.I was required to visit SIngapore for official visit.I decided to seize this oppourtunity & take Sonu along. This is what is known to outside world as telling them the truth could have caused some unnessesary discussion in family circles for both of us.And the truth was it was our first personal visit to a global location. We both used to read the ads by travel agencies operating in the city for many days. One fine day a package by Kuoni Travels caught our attention. We went ... read more

USA Fall 2009 - Pittsburgh & Ohiopyle It was a passing thought that crystalised so well that we ended up being is USA in Fall of 2009.How to utilise mandatory leave of 2009 & where to go was a question that we were pondering over for few days since July.Rome,Hongkong all featured in our discussions & even a thought of visiting Amey in USA that we at that time thought as wild!!Few days after it was a routine mail corrospondance btw Namita & Amey wherein in one of his responses Amey wrote that we shud be visiting USA this holiday.I dont know what happened but that mail from Amey made us fix our decision to be in Pittsburgh for our yearly holiday. In next few days I managed to book our logistics arrangements at some good prices ... read more

Sad Sagarachi - Ratnagiri Sahal Maza Maharashtra is the best place in the world & Kokan is its paradise. This is what I was convinced when I returned from 4 day picnic from Ratnagiri in JUne 2009.3rd week May when we were enjoying tea & snax at Bala Kaka's residence in Versova when someone suggested a family picnic to Kokan in the monsoons. It was readily accepted by all around which is namely myself, Namita, Balakaka,Nutan Kaki & Vinayak. It possibly was a passing thought for few of them but when I informed them that I have booked 6 return tickets on Mandovi Express for Jume 10th - 13th from Mumbai to Ratnagiri, everybody realised its not so.Kaka equally reciprocated by booking their bank quarters for same period which took care of our stay.In 2 days our logistics were ... read more

We always thought that whenever we go to London, it will be my official visit & Sonu's personal along with me.IN fact not only London but also all visits abroad. But you know what, so far its been the opposite. Its always been her official visit & my personal visit. This time was no diffrent. After transitioning from Asia Rates to EMEA Rates in late 2008,Sonu has streamlined the Options piece of EMEA Rates in very short span time.To add to team's knowledge, Management at JPM thought it would be worthwhile to send 2 key people from Mumbai to London for training with Middle office.Ofcourse Sonu was part of that. After making sure that all shraddha rituals for Baba are done, we left for London on Feb 14th.What could have been a better B'day gift than this to Sonu? ... read more

And then that day she same timed me & told me she has something very imp to tell me. We decided to catch up in Bandstand breakout area. There she told me that she was being asked if she is willing to go to Tokyo for a approx. a month long migration of Asia FX MO/Accounting functions. We both were excited initially abt the thought of she visiting Tokyo and possibly me too for a week or so.But need of that time was to arrieve at a decision of yes or no.And it doesnt took us long to decide in favour.Siddhath Dhanjani who manages Global Rates ... read more

Here Iam sitting at Gate 15 of Terminal 4 on London's Heathrow airport. Windows in front of me offers beautiful view of Heathrow airport.I have just finished my Starbucks coffie which I enjoyed immensely while talking to Sonu on phone. There are no flights scheduled from these gates at this time so this part of terminal 4 is a bit less crowded & thus offers good environment to write a blog for someone like me. This is the first time iam writing my blog sitting at a international air terminal. Its fantastic feeling!Technology is good, isnt it!! My visit to UK was almost certain when I kicked off the NA Commodities self funded migration from B'mouth 2 months back. But then last week things at office took a sudden change (atleast for me) when Vivek during quarter 1 feedback ... read more

New York City ..one more time..If Iam counting right, my 8th visit here in last 4 yrs..I have learned many things over these yrs & I guess thats what made this visit smoother..no tieredness, no late nights..only fun..some real good fun american style ;-) We left for Wilmington frm the office at 5.40 pm by the office shuttle.Original plan was to go by train but next train was around 7 pm which means that we have 45 mins before train arrives.Since Greyhound station just across the street,I suggested we check there. And bang!Next bus was due in next 10 mins. Its a different thing that it arrieved 30 mins late by 6.50 but that was ok since this was going to save us from the trouble of changing trains often. We got a third person this time with ... read more
