Learning Spanish in Honduras Dec13-25 Alright lets see. I will try and catch up the past almost 2 weeks briefly. I left the states this time as most, full of emotions. "why am I leaving, cannt I have normal life and live for the weekends like most people, being sad saying by to mom and dad." I am normally reassure myself with in the first day or so, generally by surfing, meeting people, doing some fun activity and say "yes this is why I do what I do and love my life". However this time around it was a bit rougher. My first day of Spanish classes it rained most of the day, as we walked around to have a city tour. I was pretty disappointed by the beach and the city. I started freaking out, ... read more

Nov 7 So again I haven't been keeping up with this very well. The only note I have is surfed la santa.  It wasnt amazing but good fun. I'm pretty sure it was windy in the am and I drove up to the north east to check it but it was small and not really working. La Santa was much bigger but very disorganized. It was mostly lefts on the inside of the cove/bay.  There was a local guy there yelling for waves that I was sitting inside of him for such a dick. It wasn't even good but clearly he thought he deserved every wave.  Nov 8 So it cleaned up quite a bit today surfed la Santa derecha. It was over head but a bit fat. It was probably the best right hand sesh ... read more

Spain travels  Alright so seeing as I have been traveling for some time now I need to catch up on some journal/blogging. Let's see.  Oct 27  I arrive to Bilbao after a somewhat turbulent plane ride. I took the public bus from the airport to down town were I spent most of the afternoon trying to get a Spanish sim so I could call emil.  Once everything was sorted I had made plans to meet Emils flat mate at the bus station in a few hours so I walked around an grabbed some dinner before meeting him.  I finally meet Ollie and we took the metro out to sopelana and then hoofed it 20 mins or so up to Emils flat. Ollie is a laid back German surfer who sets up small business around the world ... read more

March 30 So today I got up had my breaky then went for a surf. It was quite a bit smaller and not as good yet when I first got out there were still tons of guys out there. Haha. Anyway after that I packed up and cleaned the house up a bit i headed for Lima. I took a convi/collectivo back to the center area where I then caught a taxi to Daniels house, luckily his maid was outside and she let me in. I arrived around 5:30 or so and found out Daniel wasn't going to get out until 8 or so, so i just hung around. When he got home we went out to a relatively up scale restaurant to grab dinner, one of his friends an American missionary joined us as well. ... read more

March 22  So i decided to just spend the day and catch a night bus to nacza. I walked around the town a bit found a place selling civiche,so good, then just hung in the plaza catching up on here and wondering around a bit more. There is something going on here because all the school kids are in the plaza dressed in their uniforms with flags and theres a military band and some people possible protesting something.  So while walking around I found a coffee shop so I popped in for a bit. Then wandered around trying to find a place for lunch well I walked around for ages looking for some pig meal but everyone was sold out. I ended up having a pretty nice lunch overlooking the plaza. I started with choclo y ... read more

March 14  So I woke up around 7:30 checked the surf and debated going out for a long time but decided to wait on the tide switch again. So I had breaky n hung out a bit.  I went out around noon for a few hours. There crowd grew as I was out there but I must say all the guys in the water were super nice so it was a great sesh. I got some fun waves and the vibe in the water was great. When I came in I had some lunch and chilled out till my avo sesh.  Which was even more crowded but with kids so I paddled over to colegio to have it myself. It wasn't as consistent especially at first but as the tide dropped it got better and I ... read more

March 3 So with out getting to emotional obviously I really like Denisse and have fun with her even when we do nothing. it's amazing how time is flying by. Feb 24 So when I got up this am Scott said he was headed to lobos as well with Chris the guy I met there yesterday. So I bummed a ride with them. Unfortunately the wind was out of the north so it was on it making it bumpy/lumpy. The guys didn't bother going out but I wanted to give it a go. It was pretty choppy and crap, again the sweep was terrible I did a lap around after struggling to stay in place. Well this time when I paddled across this little channel to get to the morris, big rock island, I was trying to clamber on the rocks I slipped and hit my board thank god for epoxy only spider cracks. But when I got out, I looked at my big toe and ... read more

Feb 20 (cont) So mikes friend hurt his knee and couldn't do the hike and I don't think mike really wanted to do it so he took me climbing instead. The climbs were pretty solid the first one was a 6a I think and mike let me clip in he draws as well as lead it, pretty sweet/scary. The second climb was a bit easier but longer this one I cleaned all the gear too, that was a bit sketchy anchoring off then un-tying. The next climb was a bit tougher only 3 clips as well and was sketchier. I had to down climb at one point and have mike take so i could rest, I was super pumped out but i managed to finish it out after I rested. It was pretty sweet. When I ... read more
