Since the weather was in the 70's we decided to head into the city and spend the day in Central Park. It was a gorgeous day for taking pictures and enjoying a long walk in the park... I am so interested in the architecture as you can see by the many pictures I took of them. After the park we went to the Madame Tussauds Museum. Fun place... Finally we ended the day with Carlo's Bakery #3. Yum..... I think Joe is hooked on Carlo's too..... read more

Joe & I decided to just bum around the city and see what we could see. One of the highlights of the day were attending a mass at St Patrick's cathedral. This is the cathedral the Pope gave mass in a couple of weeks ago. It was a spectacular place. We also went to Bryant Park. We checked out Trump Tower and ran into Donald himself. He was very personable and talked to the crowd for quite awhile. Enjoy the pics.... read more

North America » Canada » Nova Scotia » Halifax October 15th 2015

Halifax was a pretty little city. We did not spend much time in it since we headed to Peggy's Cove. This is a close second to where I would like to spend next summer. Homer, Alaska being the first place. Peggy's Cove was a quaint little town. I stood on top of the rocks by the little house and felt totally at peace. The waves hitting the rocks had something probably to do with that. It was windy and cold, but you could not help but fall in love with this place. If you get a chance, look up it's history and why it's names Peggy's Cove. I hope you enjoy all of my pictures. This was our last day cruising, so it's back to NYC after this...... read more

North America » Canada » New Brunswick » Saint John October 13th 2015

St John was an amazing city. Our tour guide knew all the ins and outs of the city. They Bay of Fundy was interesting. Watching the salt water swirl with fresh water was crazy. Then this guy comes along and decides he is going to "ride the waves" in a kayak. Besides the water being in the low 40's and waves and swirls were crazy fast. This is also where I started taking lighthouse pictures.... read more

North America » United States » Maine » Bar Harbor October 12th 2015

This was a great place to visit. We took a schooner ride into the harbor so we were able to see several fishing boats who were pulling in their lobster pods. Of course our lunch was clam chowder, freshly caught lobster and blueberry pie. It was yummy... Great little shops and super friendly people.... read more

Since we didn't have an excursion planned we decided to stay on the ship and take pictures from each of the decks. It was a relaxing day to say the least. I was also obsessed with sail boats. They were everywhere...... read more

North America » United States » Massachusetts » Boston October 10th 2015

Before Joe and I decided to go on our RV adventure my friend, Maurine and I had booked a photography cruise out of Newark, NJ. It was an educational and fun cruise. The next few posts will be from the cruise. As you can see from the pictures I was really interested in the architecture and the fall colors. What surprised us most about Boston was how small the city is. Our trolley tour went all through Boston and it took less than 2 hours.... read more

North America » United States » Pennsylvania » Kutztown October 2nd 2015

The weather is being a pain in our a--. Since there was/is a good chance the hurricane would be coming our way the Navy base we were staying at recommended we move inland. So in the rain yesterday we packed up and hit the road to head up into Pennsylvania. It's still raining and the worst is still to come. We can handle rain, its the high winds we worry about. Time will tell how long we will be in PA. This all better get over with since we have tickets to see the Kelly and Michael show on Tuesday. I just found out one of the guests will be Shaq. How cool is that... More fun to come I'm sure. Hope all is well with everybody else.... read more

We headed into the city for a jammed packed day. Traveling around the city has been more of a challenge since I am riding around on a scooter. Since I am still in the walking boot I knew I could not make it walking upwards of 5 miles in a day. The scooter has given the mobility to see it all. It's interesting on the subway but I can now keep up with Joe.. HA! First on the agenda was to find the theater off Broadway where we would see the Blue Man Group. If you haven't seen this show, you need to. It is even appropriate for children. I know our group of grandkids would love it. Next we made our way to the Sea Port area where we boarded the Hornblower for a dinner ... read more

Our second adventure to the "city" was to New York City and tour the new World Trade Center. It always an adventure getting in to the city... Since we didn't want to pay upwards of $80 a day to have a campsite closer to the city, we chose to stay at the Navy Base in New Jersey. This equates to a 2 hour train ride to Penn Station in NYC. There we transfer to the subway. We thought we were directionally challenged above ground, try being 4 stories down under. Once you emerge into the streets of NYC the confusion continues. Somehow between the two of us we have only gotten lost a few times. The World Trade Center was simply amazing. When you rise to the 101st floor you have a 360 degree view of ... read more
