Yesterday we took off and went to Devil's tower in Wyoming. I was quite skeptical about going up there, but once we were there I was truly amazed. Especially the crazy people who were climbing the darn thing. Have I said how much I love my new camera lens..... Enjoy On the way to Wyoming we stopped in Sundance. This is the town where the Sundance Kid first was arrested. They even had a replica of the courtroom. Also are some pics of our visit to Sturgis a couple of days ago. It just made Joe and I miss our Harleys even more. Boo....... read more

Yesterday we went to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse with friends of ours from Colorado Springs (John & Jill). We all were amazing at what we saw. Mount Rushmore was built by a creative genius. It was stunning and beautiful at the same time. I was so glad I had purchased a 500mm camera lenses before we left for our adventure. Thus the amazing close up pictures of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln. Crazy Horse was a very interesting project. Built strictly on private funds it has been a slow process to build. As you can see from the pictures it probably won't be completed in even our grandchildren's lifetime. The purpose of the project is a worthy one. Google Crazy Horse to get the details. The scenery in the park around Mount Rushmore was beautiful ... read more

Here are the pictures from the trip thus far. There are pictures from Texas, Nebraska & South Dakota. We thought we were moved towards cooler country. NOT! It was 97 here yesterday. Plus the thunderstorms and flooding have followed us. Tried to BBQ last night but were rained out and it looks like no BBQ tonight.... read more

Our first day on the road was pretty uneventful until we got to Lamesa, TX where we were going to spend the night. We were about 30 miles outside the city and the rain started coming down in buckets. We made our way to the city park where they have a FREE (Joyce Osborne would be proud) RV area. It was nice for the night since it at least has electric hook ups. We backed into our spot and it was still pouring down. Since we were in the area of Texas that has been pounded with rain over the last month, we were thinking we might have to sleep in the truck. LOL. Finally after about half an hour we made a run for the RV. Keep in mind we had three dogs in tow ... read more

The best trip either one of us have ever been on has come to an end. We have been gone 139 days; traveled 14,757 miles; bought over 1,300 gallons of gas; averaged 11.2 miles per gallon; visited 12 states & providences and 14 US & Canadian National Parks and stayed in 61 different RV campgrounds. It was a great trip and we especially have to thank Jon and Joyce for inviting us to travel along with them. You were both great trail bosses. We are home and broke but have so many wonderful pictures and memories.... read more

A little less of a drive today from Amarillo to San Angelo. We saw absolutely no rain, but lots of flat land. We definitely back in Texas. We both agree we are tired of sightseeing, setting up camp, and driving. We even think the dogs are ready to get home to their own back yard.... read more

It was bittersweet leaving Colorado Springs today. I always love coming "home" to the place where I learn so much from my grandparents during the summers I spent with them. I miss it every time I leave, but the winters definitely stop me from living there full time. Joe also loves Colorado too, but we aren't into cold weather anymore. We drove a long day and ended up just outside of Amarillo. The scenery today was unexciting so no pictures...... read more

It rained all night and the creek behind the RV park was flowing at a rapid pace. Thank goodness we are high enough that the creek won't at least flood the park until after we leave tomorrow. We spent the day running around town with Jill and John. We looked at more RVs and then had dinner at our favorite German restaurant, Edelweiss. We have had a blast spending the last 10 days with our wonderful friends from Colorado Springs. Jill and I have been friends for over 30 years, so its awesome our husbands get along so well. We are ready to hit the road with them and see some more of the US.... read more
