We hope and pray that all is well where you are and that this report find you safely in the fold of our Sheppard. It has been another week full of work, promises, blessings, and shidas (problems) as to be expected anywhere. On Monday I traveled back to Arusha to teach the second year students, and in the middle of class I received a call from John, who had received a call from Emmanuel in Machame. Emmanuel was one of the first converts and a Christian who was beginning to mature, and start teaching and preaching others. Last week he was out of town on business, and this week he returned with less than good news. He has lost his job in Machame, and will be moving to Babati along with his wife, Zetuni. Both of ... read more

This week we have been working hard to keep up our regular routine, with evangelism and teaching as well as trying to clean and paint the new house. It's turned into some long days when quitting time was when the power finally went out. The kids have been playing in the mud all around the new house, with the coming of the first rains of the season, and with the rain in comes the mud along with the paint... so it's almost as if we're making a bigger mess that what was there to begin with. We're going to have to plant some more grass in the yard quickly. But it is slowly coming along. I personally am gaining a good sized dose of "TANZANIAN PATIENCE" in dealing with the fundis (workers/trades men) on this project. ... read more

We hope and pray that this note finds all of you well and safe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It has been a good week in the Kingdom here in East Africa, as things are back in full swing. My schedule for the next few weeks has hit an overload stage, as each day opens, something is already planned until the 27th of March. And I am sure that by the time that date arrives we will have already booked it for something. But we are thankful for the amount of work that lays ahead, as well as the opportunity to be here to play a small part in trying to get it all accomplished. On Mondays and on Saturdays my day begins about 5:30 am when I get up to make the 1 ... read more

There are a few people I would like to introduce you to. People that make being here in Tanzania one of the most rewarding times of my life. The Brethren in Moshi, whom we dearly love. We have found over the past year and a half that people all across the world, from various backgrounds, who intend on making a journey to Africa, for all different reasons, volunteer organizations, children's homes, Vacationing and going on one of our many Amazing Safari Trips here in the local area, even the families of our fellow Christian campaigners and visitors from the states, they all go in search of information of any kind, about the area they are going to be traveling to, so that they will have more information for their loved ones back home. We have recieved ... read more

Here are a few pictures from this week... I guess I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, we had our hands in so many various things this week, and I could write for hours, but this is our 12th Anniversary and I wanted to spend as little time on the computer as possible, to be able to spend more time with my sweet husband and kids. I know you all understand! We love you and miss you all! Hope you are having a wonderful week and God in blessing your lives in every way possible! A Trip to the Moshi Clothing Market I had been wanting to take pictures down at the Market here in Moshi for a long time, but I had never wanted to attempt the digging style shopping, bending over pile after pile, holding tight onto my bags, along with trying to keep up with the camera and not get it lost along the way. But this week I was able to do just that… I went along strictly as the photographer for Miss Emily & Maddie’s trip the clothing market here in Moshi. Maddie is the daughter of Sean & Anita Hochdorf, one of the new Missionary families we have working with us here in Tanzania, they arrived just over a week ago and they are living in Arusha, but we brought Maddie home with us to ... read more

Hannah's Nursery School has been in the process of New growth all year. Last year we reached a total of 87 students as the year came to a close in December and the Children took their final exams to see who would advance on up into the Standard 1 level of the Tanzanian Education system. Timothy hired a professional teacher to take on this new Class, named Hilda Osoky. Hilda comes from the Chagga tribe, and grew up in the Moshi area, but attended school in Arusha to receive her teaching certificate there. She is young and a recent graduate of the teaching school, so this is her first teaching position. But teamed together with Mary Massawe, still acting head teacher of the school with her age and experience with the children on a more personal ... read more

Brent sends out a weekly report through email, and I always feel as though we are repeating each other covering everything that has happened over the course of the week... But I always love sending the pictures your way and telling the stories behind the pictures, sharing with you the excitement of the week as well. And this has been a truly great week indeed! I've tried keeping a journal through the years, to record events as they happen in our lives so that one day the children might be able to look back and read over the amazing things that they have been through in our adventures. But I have found that I enjoy looking back, at where we are in relation to where we've come from, and how God has continued to bless ... read more

I can't even begin to tell you how good it is to be home again! I haven't slept this good in a few months... Something in the air I suppose... Or just the excitement of being back to work and back into our normal routine. Being Home! ~HOME SWEET HOME!!! The kids are great... As soon as we got here they ran straight for the yard to begin playing out in the dirt with the puppies again...It's quite different here in the heat of Moshi than it was leaving the cool Texas winter and seeing the snow covered ground in St. Paul, MN as we were going from one airport to the other. The power is pretty good but has been flickering several times a day... it's very unpredictable... but at least we have it most ... read more
