R.I.P. Camera
I'm sad to hear about your cold and the death of your camera. We've had that happen on trips a couple of times and it is no fun. You had a good place to rest and recover. I'm always happy when we are in a comfortable place while we are sick.

Thanks Merry. There's no good time to get sick while travelling, but we were very lucky it hit us at the end of the trip when we were winding down anyway. I'm still sad about my old camera's untimely death, but I've finally replaced it and hope to love this new one just as much (fingers crossed!) :)

Yep, the worst of Australia on display. It is indeed hard to understand how people can be so culturally tone deaf, and suspect that a lot of them are very deliberately so. They should most definitely be banned from temples etc, but suspect the Balinese are just too tolerant and polite to do so.

Caste system
Often wondered how this started. It's clearly still practised as a matter of course, which seems incredible in this day and age, particularly when Hinduism otherwise seems so focused on peace, but clearly not equality. Ugh.
