Hi-de-ho! This blog is making me miss Thailand very much, I have to say, but keep it coming - I guess I can get some kind of vicarious pleasure out of knowing that somebody somewhere is having a beachside massage. Over here the newspapers are doomladen and the weather gloomy, as you've been hearing, but we've been trying to cheer ourselves up with a few gigs, with some success. The venerable Leonard Cohen did a marathon 3 hours in Kilmainham - sitting in the rain listening to Suzanne is actually kind of a spiritual thing. Morrissey last Saturday in the same venue was a somewhat different experience ("This is the museum of modern art, and I..am...modern art") - he opened with Irish Blood, English Heart of course and showed off a bit of his Gaeilge. Support was New York Dolls who were more glam rock than punk (but David Johansen did call us a 'buncha Irish bastids' at one point, which was nice). Saw Neil Young in Malahide last night too so missed most of the Euro final (though we got to see Torres bagging his winner on the big screen just before the shaggy old rocker took the stage). He did pretty much rock - played enough Harvest era stuff to keep the big crowd pleased and encored (a little weirdly) with A Day In The Life. Getting a taste for it now - think there'll have to be a festival before the summer is out - - Rock and Roll will never die... !!

You left at right time Sounds brill guys.
The Killing Fields in Cambodia are going to be a tad less hectic when you get there I would think :)
Anyway you got out of Ireland just in time. The ERSI said this week that we are officially in a recession, so all the papers and radio stations are going mad about that.
So when you return this time next year expect the IFSC to be in flames, empty streets silent except for the pitter-patter of barefoot children, and all your friend's opinions swung massively to the right as we blame foreigners for everything so enjoy it while you can :)
send us home some money.
Dave
Nothing Like At Home... You have explored different scenery than at home but the silliness is never different!! Hope you both have enjoyed it there "under the weather", pardon the pun! My street was bawling with commotion over the loss of picture of German match and am not surprised that you have it too over there....
Good luck with the rest of your journey and godspeed both of you.
Windy City Hi hun,
I'm so depressed, its Monday morning and i'm sitting in ICC feeling as i normally do on a Monday (fab haha). It was gale force winds here yesterday measuring 120KPH (apparently) a lot of the trees in Ard-na-Greine were blown down. I'm loving your blogg and i'm so so envious of you, scuba diving while i'm sitting here willing the hours away so I can go for a diet smoke break, which isn't any fun since you left and i've no impressionist to keep me entertained. Anyway I had best do some work, i'm dying for your next installment x
longest day of the year Hi there
Hope the bungalow on the beach is going well for you after the big city. Are there many people there? Is there a nightlife or is it more of a wind down, get away from it all kinda spot?
I suppose you've heard the big news...Aideen passed her driving test. Yes, in a show of true grit and determination she did it for the fourth time and passed. I reckon everyone should do it pregnant!
Our weekends are getting booked up quickly - we're off to dicey reilly's tonight, cos it has a big beer garden and it will be bright till about 10, next weekend is Morrissey and the Dubs (that's Steven Morrissey, not Marty!) and then Enniscrone the weekend after that. And in the meantime there are sports days school tours and end of year partys a going. It's all good.
The weather is crap today - Conor was due to play a hurling match in Kilbarrack and myself and Róisín were going to go and see it cos it is the last match of the season but it was called off because it's just been raining constantly. Not sure what the long term forecast is but maybe May was as good as it gets for us this year.
Clare has booked her flights to Kerry to hook with the crew in Dingle and it looks like herself and Paul will be joining us mid-week in Enniscrone. We'll have Stephen, Charlotte and Rory on the Saturday night and Pearse will be making his usual appearance so there'll be plenty going on. Maybe just as well - long afternoon games of trivial pursuit might be where it's at!
Enjoy Ko Tao

Paul & Triona are 2 people. They both have heads and a shared interest in Cadbury's Creme Eggs. Paul is the taller one. Triona is not the taller one. ... full info
