well - we had intended for a day of Temple gazing etc today but jet lag had other plans for us - spent all of last night awake and eventually got to sleep around 5 or 6, to the dulcit tones of some strange creature howling , only to wake at 4pm. Just as we headed downstairs for our 'breakfast' (cheese toasties!) the heavens opened and it has been pouring down and thundery since. So we had a leisurely brekkie reading the Bangkok Post and looking at the rain - a few other chess playing hostellers around too - nobody too keen to traverse the strange streets on a hot, rainy day. Even the wee dogs are running for shelter. Still no bites.
We've booked in here for another night in the hope that our bodies will succumb to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight (with the aid of our friend, beer) and tomorrow will be our sight seeing day - the islands can wait another day or two before we reveal our alabaster bodies to the world. Lucky World.
We haven't had the camera out yet but hope to take some today/tomorrow or whenever the rain stops! Still - who doesn't like thunder storms? Tis fun to be in and sure we're in no hurry.
Staff at the hostel are all fluent English speakers and more than willing to advise on everything so that helps - we'll enlist their expertise for our onward journey to somewhere lovely!
Hope all are well - Aideen and Fio - show Sean and Conor how to leave us messages on here! It's either that or myself and P join Club Penguin!
