Geo: 27.8938, 78.0681Today we wake up, should be all excited as the wedding is today......but Clint is really sick. He slept well, but woke up crook as a dog, as much as he wanted to say he was ok, he had to admit his defeat and we had to tell Praviin that Clint was sick, and possibly he should go and see a Doctor. Well, before long, he was whisked off to the Doctors by Shubham, as busy as he was organising for the Wedding, he somehow managed time to take Clint, to make sure he was seen as soon as possible. While Clint went to the Doctors, Hanh, Thanh, Jay and myself went out the front of our hotel to grab a Tuk Tuk as we only had a few hours to spare and we ... read more

Geo: 27.8938, 78.0681This morning, we went for breakfast in the restaurant, huge big room with just the 4 of us eating! We have a few hours to spare before the start of all the celebrations with a cocktail party. Hanh, Thanh, Clint and myself all decided to go to Aligarh City Centre Point for some shopping, by tuk tuk!! We bargained for 100 rupee ($2.00) to take us the 6 kms to the market. Wow , this was an experience, a lot of people living out on the streets, and just everybody busy with their daily hustle and bustle of their lifestyle. The constant honking of the horns drives you absolutely nuts, it seems everyone is just in a hurry, or impatient!!The 6km journey took about 30 minutes, lots traffic and always slowing down for potholes ... read more

Geo: 26.9847, 78.1019Today is going to be a big day, we are leaving this hotel this morning, travelling to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, and after we will be going to Aligarh, to visit our friend Praviin's home, and to stay close by for all the Wedding celebrations. Praviin has arranged every little bit of this trip, from the moment we land, till the time we leave, (apart from us crazy Aussies having lots of fun together,) but he has thought of everything we may need and want to do. Ashish and the driver, called to pick us up so we can travel to Agra, he was a bit later than expected but kept in touch with us all the time. Clint an Thanh went to the local shops to buy some nuts and snacks ... read more

Geo: 28.6137, 77.1834Once again, we awake and plan to meet for breakfast early. We have to get to the Hoho bus station for Delhi City Sightseeing Tour. We were organised with a Ola cab (like Uber) and although it's only 6km away, with all the traffic, the bumps, the people, it all takes longer. The beeping of all the horns are now becoming drained into our heads, it's just a noise that happens all the time. Along the way, we see thousands and thousand of people commuting to work, to school, delivering fresh produce, furniture, steel lengths (6-8metres long), all in tuc tucs or motorbikes, cow and wagon, cars, overloaded buses, cows waddling along the side of the roads, dogs, some sleeping, some looking for food, it's so eye boggling to see the variety of transportation. ... read more

Geo: 28.6137, 77.1834This morning, after not much sleep, we showered and met Hanh and Thanh for breakfast, it was a buffet with lots of choices. There was a variety of coffees and teas too. After filling up with food, we were able to go exploring the side streets which had local shops, some were still closed as we were early, but it was good just to get out and see what was around. Today is the day we get to meet Rohit, Praviin's youngest son, who has been put in charge of organising our visit to India for the Wedding. Manee also came with Rohit, she is Praviin's niece, and she has been organised to also help us with the Wedding outfits! We all travelled together to a market place called Graffar Market Beoper Mandal, a ... read more

Geo: -34.9258, 138.6Another day, another adventure! We are off to India...!! We have been invited to a huge Wedding in Aligarh, India and we are excited!! After a sleepless night, due to the extreme heat we had yesterday (43 degrees) and during the night, it was very humid inside, we awoke early to start our day. Final pack of our bags, the off to the airport, Melanie taking us there. Checked in, and whilst filling out our customs forms, Nikki rings us to say the alarm is continually beeping and won't switch off..........why now?? Every time we go away, something happens at home or work! Well, after ringing the security man to advise there is a problem, we had to continue thru customs. Once on the other side of customs, Nikki messaged to say the alarm ... read more

Geo: -34.9258, 138.6Once again we are in Dubai Airport, not a lot of time to wait between flights, the airport is unbelievably huge, unless you have been there, and gone from terminal to terminal, you can't imagine the size, and they're now building a new bigger airport, due to open in 2020. Our plane was due to depart at 2.05am, we went to the gate and waited, and boarded when we were called. Our departure was slightly delayed, due to the queue ahead of us, of planes incoming and outgoing. Homeward bound, for the next 12.5 hours we will have to try and get some sleep. Up in the air again, we had a meal and a drink, and we all tried to get comfortable for the next few hours. Somehow, I just can't seem to ... read more

Geo: 25.27, 55.33Well, our holiday is coming to an end, this morning, we have to say goodbye to Paris, but before we leave, we still have time to see a bit more of the city. We awoke early, time to start eating what ever food we had left, thank god for the Nespresso coffee machine in this room, it was the best! We finalised our bags, and we still have 2 hours before our pick up to the Airport. What else would you do for 2 hours? Well, Clint and I put on our warm stuff, and went walking, quite crisp this morning, about -2 and clear skies. We set off towards the Opera, a little bit further from where we would catch the hop on, hop off bus. It was a really nice sunrise today, ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097Well, this morning, after a little sleep in, we are back on the train as today we are off to Versailles to visit the Chateau, today is Monday, the Chateau is actually closed, but we bought a two day hop on, hop off pass that had to be used on consecutive days, which meant Saturday and Sunday, so when I checked out going to Versailles for today, I remembered that we were meant to go yesterday!! Oh well, would be beautiful to actually go inside and check out this enormous Chateau, but we can google to see pictures, but to actually still go to the Chateau, wander around through the gardens, fountains and to just see how big this place is, well we can say it's huge. We caught the train from Saint Lazare ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097Sunday morning, a little sleep in till 7.30am, wow, the first real sleep I've had since the start of this trip, there was no traffic noise....what???? This is Paris and there is no traffic on the street, they say not much is open on a Sunday, day of rest!! Well, again we had no breakfast, but we did have coffee. We left about 10am, walked to La Fayette building, then we waited for the Le Open sightseeing bus to arrive. This morning, we need the yellow line, which goes along past Moulin Rouge, Gard de Nord train Station, past Republique, and back to where we got on. First we went past Opera, which is a beautiful building, never actually went in it but think inside it would be spectacular. Next we travelled to Clichy, ... read more
