RETURN TO S.E. ASIA

I broadened my itinerary to include some above water destinations, starting with a month in Nepal. It took a little while to get my sea legs under control, but I loved hiking in this beautiful country. After nine days in the mountains I took a three day trip to Lumbini, the birthplace of the Bhudda, then spent a week making a religious painting with a Lhama teacher. Then I was diverted from my original plan of visiting Burma, and wound up in Mongolia for an astonishing desert trip. I returned to Sipadan, diving at last, and Maldives for yet more diving. I finished up with a month in Australia, first some sight-seeing and then fifteen days diving three days on a live-aboard in the far islands, three days on closer islands, followed by eight days working on the same boat, kitchen grunt work. For this work I got room and board and three dives a day. Fabulous.
