Deja Vu
We stayed at the Seven Wives Inn in St George, Utah and like you Lynne we had an incredible meal at The Painted Pony. I think this bodes well for your USA trip...really well!!! Wouldn't it be amazing if you won the lottery for the Wave...and actually did it. Now that would be freaky!!!

Lottery
Hi Dave We won't be in the lottery as we are actually traveling in a different direction with a Parks plan for each day... But I am hoping we can fit in the Goblins Cheers

Road through Death Valley
Makes me imagine what this would be like driving along this road...and whether it would even be possible to ever see it covered in snow

I've been awaiting your blogs about your Colorado trip...
you've visited some iconic sights...just in time for the autumn display of golden aspens. I see you are headed back to Denver via many national parks...which there are many including Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon (north rim), Antelope Canyon (near Page...not a NP), Monument Valley (also no NP but fantastic), Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes, etc. If you pass my way on your way to Denver (US 24 goes through Woodland Park), I would love to meet you and take you to lunch or dinner. Send me a private message.

Experience the unique nature of the highest mountain range on the Balkan Peninsula.
The Rila (an old Slavic word, meaning "Water Mountain") Mountains range in Balkan Peninsula is the tallest within southeast Europe. Standing at 2,925 m, or 9,596 ft , Musala is the highest peak. Many of the summits here are close to 3,000 m, or 9,842 ft, high. Rila looks like a rough sea of mountain ridges and peaks, and boasts deep gorges with no less than 150 crystal clear lakes. The mountains have an entirely unique vegetation , thanks to mild winds from the Mediterranean Sea. A big part of the National Park is under the protection of UNESCO. For Mountain tracking lovers, it is one of the best place to visit.

thanks for telling us of another place to put on our list of places to see!
Sounds like you have been having a wonderful trip - places that just "happen" on our travels many times are the best in the end. Glad you have friends there to help show you around - that is always a nice way to get an introduction into a new place. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip. Thanks for taking us along with you!

Tales from the road
So good to see you traveling, writing and exploring again, still. We are eager to go to Eastern Europe. The area is so rich in history. The churches sound lovely. Eager to read more.

Churches
Yes , Dave and MJ, the churches all painted and with icons are fabulous , always good to se something you haven't seen before and this is new to me . Have eaten some great food .. It's more hearty traditional food not gourmet and I know you like foodie pics so will include them in next blog.

Bulgarian surprise!
Wow, Lynne! What a lovely discovery! I would never have thought of going to Bulgaria, but you have changed my mind! It seems to offer a real discovery opportunity, and the fact that it is affordable is great news! One day........ (grin!). I'm working on getting my leg working better (lots of physio and hydro) so that I will be able to walk well enough to do some more traveling! We will talk about your trip amongst the "girls" tomorrow night. Hugs, Maureen.
