Happy Travels Looking forward to your interesting and humerous stories as you enjoy another Summer, please spare a thought for us that are heading into frosty cold months. Take care, much love and we look forward to catching up when you return.
Time for departure Strange though it may seem, the time before departure can often be as exciting as the travel itself until you reach those places at the top of your 'must see' list and Scicily will be one of those.Wish we were with you.We will just have to live your trip through your eyes and be happy for the time being knowing that 2019 and the BBA V4 isn't too far away for us.Enjoy and have a wonderful time
Time for departure Amazing how quickly our departure date has arrived. We can now tick off "the setting up of our new blog". Seems to be working. The next blog will be from Rome.
when in Bourges next time Hi Chris and Marilyn, I lived in NZ on and off in the 1990s coming from New Caledonia. But I am a native of the province of Berry of which BOURGES is the capital. If/when you come back this way one day I'd be delighted to be your guide! Meanwhile you could perhaps read the following book: https://www.amazon.com/Dream-Maker-Jean-Christophe-Rufin-ebook/dp/B00EV4ZSA8?ie=UTF8&qid=1466750032&ref_=la_B001H9TZC2_1_3&s=books&sr=1-3 All the best, f r a n k i e
Bourges re - visited, not sure Hi Frankie
Thank you for reading our blog and making a comment. As you can tell we fell in love with your wonderful city. Who knows when we might come back. At the moment we are planning our next European holiday for 2017. Italy and France are on the wish list. Should we need a guide if we re - visit Bourges we will keep you in mind. Chris & Marilyn
Soon Be Back Looking forward to seeing you, but sorry that we can no longer read of your adventures. Hope you are enjoying Singapore. Love Yvonne and Ray

Wellcome Back Thank you Marllyn and Chris for your travelogue for 3 mnths Sorry ithat the last day in Paris has been and gone Great however that you are on your way back to NZ Jolyon and I with Pene and Lionel Sinnamon would like to wellcome you both back to NZ with a 12.30 lunch on Wed. 19th August at Oliver's in Clyde Hope you will be settled back by then and over the jetlag Love Enny and Jolyon
Greetings from Singapore Enny and Jolyon, thank you so much for your kind welcome back comment. We would love to meet up for lunch at Olivers on 19 August. Coming home is one of the highlights of our travel, made even more special by your invitation. With love, Marilyn and Chris
Ah ! the Paris Opera House Did you get the feeling that the Phantom was suddenly going to swing over your shoulder and land on the stage and swoop up the heroine before your very eyes.
Opera House Yes. I had my hand firmly in Marilyn ' s hand so no chance of my heroine being whisked away. Did wonder about the chandelier though. Another hot one today.
More ice cream Good to see the weather has warmed enough to want an ice cream although of course any time is ice cream time. You have got us thinking of putting Belgium on our plan for 2016.In the past it has been the through route to Holland and that is all.
Love Belgium. Worth a visit. The two cities we visited are worth a stop off but if time is a problem pick Bruges. Everything about the country looks well cared for and the people are happy to speak our language. If passing through stop for a day or two. Who knows we might go to Brussels for the day when in Paris - only a slim possibility. We have been told it is a must.
Time to eject a kilo or two. Oh the Belgian chocolate. The ice cream was delicious. And the big slab of chocolate oh boy. Today the suitcases lose a kilo or two. Amazing how much junk you collect in the way of brochures etc.
wine Back in Central with all the wineries eh What a marvellous and informative holiday you are having. Thank you for all the details. How do you have the time to keep us up to date, ??
More wine Discovered a shop with wall to wall champagne. Prices from about 15€ to 3500€. Needless to say we went cheap. With two of us typing away we get the blogs written quite quickly. Sometimes a slow Internet holds us up. Pleased you are enjoying our travels. Hope you are both keeping warm and healthy. Spring isn't far away.

Remagen Still haven't watched the movie although I do know where to get it on YouTube. What did you think of the museum? For all the places we have been in Germany,Remagen has been one of the few places that has a memorial to both side of the war shared in the same place.Generally any recognition of what happened in a battle is told in different locations.
My tablet wants to be in control. Thank you ede35 for your comment. You are quite correct. My tablet is using predictive text and often wants to take over. I missed the error when checking the text. It has now been corrected. Hope you enjoy our blog.
Co journyers Dear Marilyn and Chris
We have been so enjoying your fascinating comments and photos of your journey We unearthed Jolyon's 1950 world atlas that he acquired when his parents were doing their
overseas tour and he stayed with his two sisters with his grandparents in Invercargill Needles to say we cannot find all the interesting places you are visiting but we get the general
direction Just as we were getting anxious that our lack of feedback had struck us off the mail list these last two days we get two links in one day and can resume our cojourney though we have not found Weisback on our ancient map nor did we find Menninger town if such goes with the the Menninger Aiport My mothers half brother was reputed to be a psychiatrist in the Menninger Institute If there is no a township of that name Menninger must have been a famous person Thanks so much for sending the daily travellogue The energy you have to record it all daily and the traveling done daily .staggers us Thanks for sharing it all with us it hs become a daily fix Warm regards Enny and Jolyon
Your daily fix We are both thrilled you are enjoying our travels as much as we are. The blogs aren't always published daily. We get busy so publish when time allows, sometimes two or three at a time. Weissbach is not on our map either. Have you tried Google Maps? We like to name some obscure places so they get a mention and encourage tourists to visit. Memmingen is about 80 km due west of Munich. Seemed to have been an air force base before becoming a commercial airport. We are currently in Dresden and today looking forward to some wonderful sights. Thank you for your feed back, keep warm.
