It's a long time from my last writing ( long time for me at least considering I was planning to write more often). But the truth is, there is so much happening everyday, that I don't even remember those things by myself, and no need to ask from Anniina what did we do that and that time or this day, she is as bad as I do. So, the point of this nonsense is.. that I should write more often. So, to the point. Thank you all from those comments you have made, I appreciate them a lot 3 3. Greetings for you all! Just try to handle my bad English writing, this is the only place now I don't necessary need to check my grammar over and over again. Last weeks have been, awfully and ... read more

Imagine to spend a sunny and warm day in an elephant village in Thailand. Watching the apes, trekking on the back of the elephants, listening the interesting stories about authentic jungle life and in the end eating an delicious lunch with fresh fruits in season and coffee. That's exactly what we did in a one Sunday during our holiday in Pattaya. First the elephant village's staff member came to pick up us and couple other visitors from our hotels with minibus. Then our three and 1/2 - hour tour in elephant village started by combination trekking on the elephant's backs, first right through the river sitting in their backs and then continuing to the open area where we saw the cutes cow ever.., riding through the bushes and passing the villages and kind of " savanna. ... read more

Pattaya,"Putt-tuh-YAH" was our next and last big holiday destination after Bangkok. We do chose a place due to it's location, about 165 km southeast of Bangkok. It was easiest and the most convenient decision for all of us hence we were supposed to return in Bangkok and didn't want to spend any extra dates by travelling. Our fantastic hotel, yep, this time it was truly a hotel with deluxe rooms ( which was something to do with the fact that there were no other rooms to choose anymore during that time and we were early!) was near famous Pattaya Beach ( Central Pattaya) area. It came out that except were were alongside the city centre, close to shopping, hotels and bars we were also staying in core of Pattaya's nightlife area.. The hotel's pool and pool ... read more

Our long waited Christmas holiday in Thailand from 13th of December To 27 th of Dec. started from Bangkok, which is the capital city of Bangkok and largest urban area and primary city of Thailand. This was the best way of starting a Christmas holiday from Bangkok, absolutely without any big plans. Beforehand I though I could be happy if I get a chance to enjoy of the sea, the sun and relax. Everything else beside that was considered as an extra! When we landed Bangkok at the Saturday afternoon 13th of Dec the weather was hot and sunny, on the other hand, what else to even except after not so sunny Singapore. To my great surprise the weather there was much more easier to handle than the huge humidity here in S'pore. It was so ... read more

Sweet is definitely the right word when describing the atmosphere now here in Singapore. Bit overdecorated and sumptuous also. Streets are all over transformed into a candy land dripping with gumdrops, liquorice, candy canes and jelly beans, and Christmas carols are played everywhere. Still, as exotic as it seems, something is missing, the snow maybe?! Gosh, I'm not serious, hopefully we won't get it.. December here has been the most different December in my life this far. Last week we went to try rollerblading to the East Coast Park, and we had a superb time there, really! I'm still in a one piece. Although in the end of our time there the "Esther" showed us her dark side, and it started to rain like never before.. You can see from the photos which was the result ... read more

Since we have been doing pretty fun and "not so serious" things lately this time we decided to do something else. Or actually, someone else decided that already at school, hence we had a field trip to Fort Siloso, which is a coastal artillery battery and one of the twelve coastal batteries which made up ‘Fortress Singapore’ at the start of World War Two. That was pretty much all I knew about the place beforehand. Fort Siloso was almost too easy to access because it was located on western tip of the island of Sentosa (formerly called Blakang Mati — the ‘Island behind the Dead’) which is the island where our school is.Fort Siloso was like in our neighborhood and I didn't almost have any idea that it is really so close The Fort is one ... read more

This event has actually went already, but because I know some people might be particularly interested in, somehow I have one young, just married woman in my mind ;) I want to tell some more about it. I was so happy and satisfied when we found AFA08 (http://www.afa08.com/) festival and realized it was supposed to be held here, in Singapore! This Celebration of Japanese Pop Culture festival was organized between 22/11 Sat - 23/11 Sun. The festival took place in Suntec City Hall near Raffles Marina and the day we went there was early Sunday morning. We didn't have book tickets in advance ( they were already gone when we realized that!) so we were afraid that we couldn't get in. Luckily there was tickets still left to buy from door. I have never been a ... read more

Time is once again passing so fast, different kind of assignments, tests and reading materials have been keeping us very effectively in front of our laptops at home. See the attached photos from us studying, going crazy or something.. Just few more weeks more and then we will hopefully have a long Christmas holiday. However we have been doing many things, except going to school. Last night we went to see firework show. They celebrated Vivo City's ( one huge shopping complex) 2 years birthday and shot them from that buildings roof. I Must to say the show was amazing, designer team was coming all the way from France, so we had a really nice French firework show actually, even though I don't know how it excepts from other nations shows. As it seems we have ... read more

Asia » Singapore » Sentosa Island » Siloso Beach November 21st 2008

Once upon a time, when I had a lot of money and I was born to spend a lazy days lying on the Siloso Beach drinking mango juice. Oh, well, in my dreams it would be like that, but the reality is another story though. Actually we had a field trip to that luxurious resorts. Kind of a funny thing that this resort, targeted for honeymooners and lovers and "true romance seekers" is only 5 minutes way from our school. So near but still so far.. It's location is said to be excellent, just at the heart of Singapore's hippest beach - Siloso Beach. We had an conducted tour there from huge poolgarden and massive rooms ( where they had four to six double beds in every of them!) to private villas. Alright, this is not ... read more

K.L. like the locals call their city is the capital and the largest city of Malaysia. There would be so many things to tell about our weekend visit there, that I could almost write a book, but now I will try to stick to the relevant. Since the public transport and the condition of the roads is so good, we decided to take a train to Kuala Lumpur, which was a nice decision. All those landscapes, local people and pineapple trees ( they seemed pineapple trees, but I'm not exactly sure if they were..) almost took my breath away. It was evening when arriving at K.L. so we planned to catch a taxi to our hotel. We just didn't know we need to book the tickets for taxi beforehand from a different stand before we could ... read more
