Where was the beach resort in E? we stayed at one in Hurgada and loved it. we went on a glass bottom boat tour with a bunch of Egyptians who were having even more fun than we were.
All the photos are great, but I liked the one of you on the donkey the best.
How is the wardrobe you took working out - we need one comment page on the wisdom (or NOT) of your packing - for envious ones like me.
Will you have to pay $1/mon. for a longer stay? Isn't that weird? Sounds like you are getting interesting weather like other parts of the world. Earthquakes, tsunamis, rains, floods, snowstorms. It all adds to your overall adventure. Glad it worked out well.
Nettie wrote that Bryon's Dad was ok. But have not heard anything since. So don't know.
No news from SK, MB or BC. So I assume all is well.
We are well. Only 23 more nights here. Then north to Penticton.
We await your next update.

Own the Podium How can you Own the Podium if you quit 100 meters from the top? Can't say's I blame you however, I'm sure it is quite the climb. I've heard before that climbing down is the harder of the two parts.
I laughed at your mention of the electrical storm, because it brought back memories of the two Egyptian engineering students I used to meet up with some days as we walked across the bridge to the University of Saskatchewan. One morning, fresh and clear after a wonderful prairie thunder storm, they told me they had never seen anything remotely like the lightening, nor heard thunder before, and spent most of the night under their beds! I can imagine if you've never seen nor heard a storm before, it would be very upsetting.
All that said, is this occurance a sign of changing climate in Egypt?
Cheers - F

Great commentary...if you arent careful "Rick Steves Holidays" will hire you.
Just returned from my 14 day jaunt and spent saturday morning reading your entries..very nice. I like the part when you tie history to the location.......I find that helpful...keep up the entries and enjoy and BE SAFE.
Wish I were there ... Wish I were there but am vicariously enjoying your adventurous travels sitting here at my computer -- your photos are an added bonus -- look to seeing them all when your return.

Funny bugs traveling with you. I guess it is to suspect. So it is hot I see, I will take cool clothes.
Could you walk freely in Aswan? Is it relax or very busy?
The description of the sites makes it beautiful. Enjoy.

Yes Suzanne the street crossing is like in Hanoi...you'll do fine. Good luck with your packing you atr going to appreciate these monoliths. They are truly awesome.
Hi Wow! I like your wrighting. I feel I am there.I was reading last night on the sand every where in Cairo, it seems wright.
I am starting my list today, leaving in 2 weeks. Getting my plane ticket today. Going fast. Does the traffik feel a bit like Hanoï except no motorbikes most cars? I am happy that the caïrote are welcomming, that is good. I am reading Lawrence Durrell, "Le quatuor d'Alexandie" quite a reading. It seems like a good group and 9 people is fine. 60's are good travelers it should be fun.
Have fun in Abou Simbel, Suzanne.
I am off on another travel venture. This retirement thing is quite wonderful ,I recommend it to you all. Keep me posted on your activities.... full info
