Enjoy you last days. Glad you had such an interesting winter. Added to the prep time, this has been a busy winter for you. Terrific!
It is not summer yet. But there is no snow in Calgary. The wind is quite cold. the sun is warm when it shines. We will be home tomorrow.
Travel safely. Love, R&C
Hi It has been a long travel. But you seem to be very happy...good. I am back from my trip through Egypt and I made many discoveries. First that Egypt is very divers: we started with Caïro, the Gizeh plateau and the pyramids. Then a trip to one oasis and one night in the white desert...quite the experience. Then we flew to Abou Simbel, toured there and took our boat for the cruise on the lake Nasser. we visited the temples saved from the flood because of the Nasser dam. Stopped at Assouan and had our first glimpse at the souk. Then took the cruise on the Nile witch was less peaceful then the one on lake Nasser. Then the big temple and tomb visit of Luxor...so much to see...Then a flight to Sharm el sheikh for a rest for one day at the beach and a look at the beautiful coral reef. Then it was Ste Catherine and the early rise to go up Mount Sinaï at sun rise....many clouds and no sun. Back to Caïro for a 2 day visit...very busy. And a 2 day trip to Alexandria. Back to Caïro and a flight home. Ouf! busy holiday...but enjoyed it very much. I hope to exchange with you soon on our impressions. Welcome home.
Happy Easter Hi Pam, I'm just catching up on your blog. Your trip sounds fascinating. Spring is here in Saskatchewan! My tulips and lilies are up.
Enjoy and take care of yourself

Enjoying the Season! Well, not quite as much as you are as most of my last four days have been spent in one very familiar place -- on Saturday alone I was at Christ the King for ten hours -- six in the a.m. preparing for our Easter Vigil reception -- 2.5 hrs at a very moving Easter Vigil complete with 3 adult and 2 children baptisms plus 3 adult confirmations and the final 1.5 at the reception. In the hours in between I went home feeling ill -- I'm on medication for 'gout' even though I hardly have the trappings of this condition! And, as usual medication and I do not go together -- stopped taking it so I could enjoy Easter Sunday as we were invited to a 'tapis' style dinner at a friend's with her children, grand and great grandchildlren -- it was fun to be in the company of a group of wonderful young people. How great for you to be where it all happened.
I am so enjoying your descriptions of every place you visit - and I can really hear your voice, especially in the final words of each blog entry.
Don and I had a wonderful quick visit with my family at the Travelodge in Saskatoon on Good Friday and he is now off to visit with his family in Stoughton and I'm home engaged in the never-ending battle to try to get organized.
Cannot remember your exact date of return but we are all looking forward to seeing you - maybe we'll be lucky and you'll be home this week.
Warmest hugs from Joy
Happy Easter It must be incredible to be in Jerusalem during Easter week. What an experience.!!! Is it like living history or completely diffenent I wonder. I am so enjoying your blog and keeping in touch. When I read it I can hear it in my head in your voice. I hope you continue to have a wonderful time and stay safe. Picked pussy willows and the first couple of crocus in the Qu'Apple valley on Good Friday. Sister Jill and I went to the cabin for the aftenoon.
Hello Pam. I didn't know if Kerry contacted you, so I thought I would let you know that we lost our good friend around 3 p.m. today. I am happy for Brenda as her suffering has ended, but sad for her Kerry and kids. Brenda was a very special person and I will miss her terribly.
Lynn

Easter I thought Jerusalem was a more populated city. Are there many towns/cities surrounding it like Vancouver has Burnaby, etc...? Lucia has been sick now for over a week. I guess Gemma's illness was contagious. Lucia has improved over the last 24 hrs with the help of antibiotics. We are heading to Regina on Holy Thursday. You certainly are in Jerusalem at THE peak Religious celebration time. Will you follow the via dolorosa on Good Friday? I imagine there will be quite a crowd for that also. I hope you find some quiet places and time to enjoy some of these spcial places in a quiet and unhurried manner. I look forward to hearing all about your adventure.
Happy Easter! love the SMOs
Pam. The sun has finally brocken through and the snow is all but gone here in Regina. Jerusalem. Wow, there is so much to see and do. I like your approche though, seeking out the quiet. If you do have a chance to go back to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher say a little prayer for us and know that we are thinking of you. What is it we pray on Sunday's " the communion of the saints". Happy Easter Pam, you are there where it all happened, and we're with you in spirit. Your nephew, Tim
Hello Pam. Glad you are enjoying your trip. We continue to enjoy reading your blogs.
Brenda doesn't seem to be improving in terms of the stomach episodes. She throws up lots. Yesterday they took her for an ultrasound to see if there is liquid around her stomach. She is one very brave lady, never complains. Kerry is there with her tending to whatever needs he can (getting ice, getting a wet face cloth, etc.)
Last week we went down to Robin's for a coffee. It was so nice to get out of her room. Brenda seemed to enjoy it.
Well that's about all for now.
Lynn
You missed the March snowstorm this week (the last???) and now it's getting warmer so probably all the white stuff will be gone soon. I'm imagining all the interesting history you are experiencing. My new lab has antiquities too--old science stuff from the last 20 or 30 years! This weekend we're in Swift at the world women's curling gold medal game--go Canada! Have fun. Shirl.
I'm impressed - I think I would have had it after a month! Good on you as the Aussies say! Keep on hiking as you don't have much more time on the road! Do take care & we'll see you in April.
No new clothes for sale? I'm shocked that you haven't found some new things to wear in all your journeys and visits to markets, etc. Only two shopping weeks left 'til home. Better get on it :>)
almost gone Packing has gone well. Not much left to do. We will definitely be organized by tomorrow.
Saw Nettie & Bryon. He is very concerned about his Dad. They are here until about Apr. 10. I am sure she will keep you up to date.
We hope to get to Navajoa tomorrow (way past Mazatlan). Then Tucson on Fri. Then we will wander along to Penticton. I want to shop as we go.
Your trip sounds very interesting. As for clothes. Just think you could be in Regina in winter duds. Nah! Wear what you have with you. The sites don't notice that it is always the same outfit. You can hide them when you get back.
Keep enjoying. Don't know when I will write again. Could be a few days.
Take care. We will travel safely too. Love, R&C
Pam your writing is so vivid that I can visualize the flowers, fruit and beautiful trees; I hope you are taking lots of pictures to show us this summer.
Glad to hear that you have enjoyed some relaxing time. Their is nothing like a good cup of coffee, a paper and not having to get dressed to enjoy it.
bye for now,
All is well. The hliday sounds spectacular so far. Lots of sights, sounds, smells, etc. Oh, I just read Wendy's note, - A ROBIN!!!!! Yahoo!!! I saw an ant. Whoopee. Larry & I had two friends for supper last night. We had a good visit and got caught up, as one lives in Calgary and we see her about once or twice a year. ABBAmania was at the Symphony on Sat. night. I've never been a fan, but the harmonies were good. Maybe when you are back you will be able to see the Paul McCartney tribute - April something. The weekend you get back, my brother and sister-in-law from Houston will be in town for a few days. We look forward to their visit. Last Sunday night we got to look after our 1 year old great nephew - Jackson - for a few hours. We took him for a ride in the stroller over to Davin for a swing ride, He liked the dogs we came across. We had to stop and talk to them. Who knows, I might be following in your footsteps. :>) Children are such fun. Happy Spring!!!
I am off on another travel venture. This retirement thing is quite wonderful ,I recommend it to you all. Keep me posted on your activities.... full info
