Worth the wait! Congratulations on finding such a charming place! I love that it was partly constructed of found and recycled materials--beautiful and conscientious. Good luck settling in!
worth the wait portmeirion is a lovely place and its great that all the buildings were rescued and replaced in a lovely setting . Thank you cannot wait to get on the road again in Suzy. So much world to see
You might get one Yes you might just get one - day spent digging out a hole to put Suzy in. Not literally but it feels like it. Hopefully we will get her back end of the week. Are you ready for the christmas season.
Yes, my son has settled in well in Bangor... he loves everything except the weather, but was expecting that to be bad. He just emailed asking for Linda's Thanksgiving recipes. He and his roommates are going to prepare a Thanksgiving feast. In case it doesn't go well, he has the opportunity to observe his mother cook Christmas dinner when he gets here on 22 December. He returns to Wales on 10 January.
Weather The weather is awful at the moment cold damp and miserable. I am sure he will do very well with the feast . Christ mass will soon arrive. Where has the time gone. It hardly seems five mins since he arrived in Bangor.
Local places There are some lovely places here . It is the same for me when I read your American trips. Today we did Gainsborough and the rather lovely old hall. Might have got done by a speed camera on the way back. Hopefully we were within the speed limit. Has your son settled in Bangor..?
on the road Yes lots of memories and adding to them all the time . Actually met Addy of Motohome WiFi yesterday on our campsite. Funny to think that you read a blog and eventually bump into the people who write the blogs. Love this motorhoming . You never know our paths may cross at some point .
Looking forward to your next trip Great summary. I'm sure you'll decide to do it again and we will eagerly await. Sounds like lessons were learned. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like an excellent Aire Not sure exactly where it is but will look out for it when we travel down through France in January.........we also do quite a bit of travelling in a camper van - www.mytb.org/jackieandchris2011
not sure where it is The small village is on the Gironde just below Talmont, Royan and La Rochelle. Very pretty place. The monument is in the local park. If you can get on the aire you walk around the end of the harbour and go up the hill until you reach the top. At the top is a crossroads. To the left takes you out of the town. straight across the town centre and to the right the park and viewing area. Turn right at the top of the hill walk a short way down and into the park. You should see the viewing platform in front of you and the monument is hidden to your right hand side. Its worth a visit just to stay on the aire
home at last Well its all over for another year we have arrived home last night and stayed over at Poolsbrook Caravan club site. The weather is nice but hey I miss the temperatures of Portugal in particular. Hopefully the blogs will get finished off now as I am a tad behind with them. Internet access wasnt that good in the last few days and I thought I would get on top of them when I got time. Planning now for house move and what to do over the winter.
before and after I found the old photos in my mums belongings after she died. She paid for me to go on the cruise and it cost an arm and a leg for her £60 was a lot of money in 1966. It was interesting to see that I must have stored the exact same viewpoint all these years later. where are you off to next ?
A 70 something who feels that the world is her lobster, that life is worth living and that you only get one shot at it . A whole new world opened up since we bought Suzy. A different view out of the window every day and the chance to see life in all its glory. And then there is Sion our travelling companion. A knowledgeable sheep who with his Sheep Book of Facts keeps us on our toes. He and his bestest, bestest friend Woolly Mammoth search the world for latrines, roofs and manhole covers. What more could you want out of life?
