italy i always think it is a place that on the face of it can look shabby but if you have a soul then you see beyond it and it is the most beautiful sensuous place you could ever wish to see . Been to Venice today again - 12th visit for Glenn and 4th for me and each time we see somehting different
I hope you visited Sirmione... it is our favorite town on Lake Garda because of the castle with its car free town and the Roman palace at the end of the peninsula. We would stop there every time we visited northern Italy.
I learned to sail on Lake Chiemsee in August 1987 (of course I blogged it)... Unfortunately I haven't sailed since so have forgotten everything. Nevertheless, it was a great vacation. We had time to tour the area including going as far as Salzburg.
I so look forward to reading about your semiannual vacations... and now you are on your way again! Where will you be the second half of April 2015 when I'm in Croatia and Slovenia?
croatia Hello Bob - no idea I am tempted to say I have no idea what we are doing next month at the moment let alone next year. We are dependent on me getting four weeks holiday from work and I may have to grovel deeply as I have changed offices and not sure my manager will be happy with me taking a whole month off . If we end up picking Croatia again next year we would hopefully be there the same time as you . Feel like we have known you a long time and it would be nice to meet face to face .
cups of tea I agree , the first stop usually in any city or town is at a cafe to sit over an espresso and a cake and watch the world go by. Will be on the road in less than three weeks again so looking forward to seeing a bit more of that fantastic planet we live on.

A 70 something who feels that the world is her lobster, that life is worth living and that you only get one shot at it . A whole new world opened up since we bought Suzy. A different view out of the window every day and the chance to see life in all its glory. And then there is Sion our travelling companion. A knowledgeable sheep who with his Sheep Book of Facts keeps us on our toes. He and his bestest, bestest friend Woolly Mammoth search the world for latrines, roofs and manhole covers. What more could you want out of life?
