It is great to see that your walking habit is firmly established.
How far away is the nearest indoor pool?
27th December 2020

walking
Cant stop me doing something Bob . The two nearest pools are either 5 miles away in Wrexham or about 7 in a little village called Gwersyllt . Both are closed indefinately due to Covid . We are on full lockdown for at least the next three weeks . I cant see me swimming for a while :(

moving home
My blog is way behind . We moved last Friday . Awful experience never had it so bad. We arrived and the people here had not moved out . They wouldnt move quickly and we ended up paying more for our removals . They left filth everywhere . We have been spending the last week trying to get an internet connection . Got that and then it would not work . Took until yesterday to sort it out . No mobile signals on either phones . It has been awful . CAnt sort that one out . Means hard to use banking . Tearing our hair out . starting knocking walls down . Been busy . Life is very wierd at the moment . Hope you have a good Christmas as best we can now that the First minister has closed us down . xx

Even when we look forward in anticipation to a move to our forever home...
leaving behind a home is still nostalgic. As the Bard says "Parting is such sweet sorrow."

moving
The hardest bit is Gabby is not outside the house . Moving has been difficult . It will take a long time to settle down . Have a good Christmas Bob . I am sure you and your family will enjoy it to the best of your ability . Talking of the bard - watch Upstart Crow . I think you might enjoy it if you can get it on Britbox .

Moving House
I think the Conveyancers and solicitors ensure that moving house takes 3 months minimum, to justify their fees!! When we were buying our bungalow, we had NO searches or anything, we were cash buyers, the seller wanted to sell...and it still took 3 months of frustration!! Good luck - I'm sure it will work out in the end

house selling
We were ready to buy the house in Wales and signed all the paperwork seven weeks ago . The people at the bottom took nearly 10 weeks to decide to have a survey on the house they were buying . Then they got in an arguement over an unadopted road and who would pay for an indemnity policy . We rang up yesterday and threatened that if they did not sort it out we would be considering pulling out of the sale . Got phone call last night that it had been sorted and that we were looking at a completion on the 18th . Waited all day today to see if anything had come to our solicitor but nothing . We are furious with the solicitors for the two buyers in the chain below us . We are sick to death of them . I feel like murder at the moment . Third time lucky we thought but not so sure now . Did you get to Spain > I guess that you did not with everything going on with lockdowns .

Gabby!
Interesting to write from the Campervans point of view!! We often wonder whether we were right to sell out Campervan = would it have just been sat in the drive or would we have just gone out local in it? who knows?! Hope your house sale is still progressing? In the absence of going to Spain. we have booked a cottage on the Llyn Peninsula!! We are only allowed to travel in Wales!! Take Care! x

travels
Hi I wondered where you were . I know a couple from their travel blog who have hotfooted it to Nerja and now are locked down there . Gabby sits there and it looks as if we might take her out for a quick ride on Friday . My car needs its first service and Glenn will have to follow me in her and bring me home . Thats if its not cancelled between now and then. House exchange should happen on the 13th and move pencilled in for the 20th but of course now Boris has locked us down from Thursday . Following what Wales doing . Will be glad to get there if I am honest . The River Dee has flooded at Bangor on Dee where we are moving to so there is a flood warning on at the moment . It is going down today but very slowly . Sorry to hear that you wont be getting to Spain anytime soon . The world is in a mess . I have to ring the Tunnel in the next few weeks to cancel yet again the Europe trip . Hoped we woudl get there third time lucky but not looking promising . The Lleyn Peninsula is very nice . Used to go to Abersoch for wild weekend parties in a tent when I was younger LOL . Happy memories of the lack of campsites and Sunday pub closing . Keep safe xx

Maharishi wisdom
One of the things the Maharishi taught me - though it took me while to learn - was to value the little pleasures in life. The big pleasures are rare and the reward is fleeting; The little pleasures are always there and last forever. The rich smell of a flower; the beauty of a butterfly or a water-dragon; the bitter-sweet taste of an orange; the smell of rain when it has laid the dust. Learn to enjoy these "small" things and the world is always a joyful place.

Lovely thoughts
Yes the smell of flowers . I like the small things in life .

Keep on smiling!
How could you forget that this is 2020!

forgetfulness
Well Bob they say with Covid you lose your sense of smell and taste. I wonder if it makes you get so muddled that you dont know your 2010's from your 2020's? I shall have to try harder
2nd October 2020

I must have missed something...
in what village is your new home?
3rd October 2020

Bangor on dee
Hi Bob - if we ever get there Bangor on Dee a tiny village on the River Dee a few miles inside the welsh border . It is near to Wrexham and Chester . Sounds interesting reading your post on FB about your local politics .

I love planning my next trip...
I hope this time your plans work out. With a vaccine right around the corner, perhaps life will start to get back to normal. And as for not being European, welcome to the club. This has never affected my ability to travel to and around Europe except for the current lockdown that has affected everyone.
17th September 2020

trips
We are not so confident on a vaccine here . The Oxford Trials seem to be going Ok until they had to stop them and then restart them . The talk here is that the vaccine wont be ready for quite some time and if it does work it may have to be tweeked every year like the flu vaccines . We are well hated in Europe and it has got worse since Brexit . Will have to learn to stand in the non EU line at the borders . Not used to it . Not done it for 40 years it will be novelty. Perhaps I can start collecting stamps in my passport LOL . Boris is making a hash of it all so it cant get much worse
