Take care!
Wow I'm happy you spent your birthday happily. All of us here wish that we oculd have spent it with you as you did in china. Plus those flowers are beautiful!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! leave it to me to forget someone's birthday. it took me forever to learn liora's birthday, and you know how much i love that girl. your 62nd birthday is a milestone because it means you are one year older and wiser, and also because you finally drank. woooo for schneider. celia and i were both telling our friend, her mom, and her sister all about you yesterday when her mom treated us all to a german dinner at "heidi's gasthaus", dont know if you ever visited. anyway it was fabulous... i recommended schnitzel to everyone, and only my friend took our advice, and now she wants to eat it everyday haha. the dinner soooo good. sorry to remind you of schnitzel in a country where you're probably eating fried squirrel by now. in case chandler hasnt told you yet due to his appreciated yet surprising modesty, he got a VERY impressive score on his german AP exam, all thanks to some westener visiting china. i cant say what he got cause he'll probably get mad that i even posted it... i'll tell him to email you or something hahaha. i miss you and love you. i know i keep saying it but expect a call from me soon! i have to set my alarm to 8:00 am one of these days. and if im right it was benson and hedges ultra light 100s. although im sure an english dictionary for the kids would be a greater contribution, and less harmful to your health ;)
much love as always

sorry Schneider hey schneider just passing by to say sorry that Germany lost the world cup....i don't even know if you like soccer but i just wanted to say that they played good. well that's all. miss ya. MARU
Well Mr. Schneider, you are looking a mite slim! Maybe you need to come visit us and eat some good Cuban food and fill up!
PS. the waterpaintings are gorgous!
My friend is part of a Tibetan-awareness type club. The organization says that the train will inevitably destroy the Tibetan culture, as the Chinese will undoubtfully try modernize. But I think it could spread its mysterious culture--little is known about China itself, less of Tibet. Modernization is a big threat though.
Happy Happy Birthday,do they celebrate in China? Can you get a cake and candles,or are candles short in demand?and the amount you require would cause a national shortage. We are also e-mailing you.Let us know if you are receiving our notes.
miss you schneider,
these days i have missed you terribly. i miss you saying "holy schinken!", and i regret never seeing your chonga dance. i had to go back to the hospital for one day this week cause what i had before came back. dont worry though, not anywhere near as serious. this time my health is stable and they just wanted to check that i would be okay. turns out my blood count has actually improved, so im not too stressed about it. the only thing is that, strangely, this time i have been in horrible pain, which i wasnt in last time. BUT for the past 2 days i've had no pain, so no need to worry any longer. im taking all sorts of pills and crap so that hopefully this will all go away soon. dont mean to worry you, you have enough stress eating water snakes. :P
i love you! i never forget you and all that you taught me
love always,
sandra
Im so jealous! It seems like you are having an amazing time and are learning so much. I fell *so* lazy. Like the only culture im learning about is...uh...none:P . Well, you'll be happy to know that just b/c im not in school doesnt mean that i gave up on my german! Still going strong! *Plus* for my extended essay im analyzing the effect of the treaty of versailles on the NSDAP...so ya. Keep 'em coming Schneider. We learn through your eyes. Tschus!

After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
I thought it would be informative for others and rewarding for me personally, to log the progress of my efforts from beginning to end, as a Travel and Photo Jo... full info
