Ghouuuuulish! "The sweat, blood, and rotting corpses of uncountable construction-crew-victims, and those butchered in the many gory battles for the trophy, that is China, must be the 'fertilizer' for the Wall's surrounding vegetation."
Wow, Hans! Just imagine the wall at night; deserted and foreboding with a full moon casting many shadows that almost illuminate the phatoms, spirts, specters, wraiths, and shades of those countless unfortunates. Hear the rustling of these spirits and the disembodied voices rising from the greenery...."Help me, heellp me, heeeelllllppppp me."
Then have a Coke, er, Pepsi.
;>)
Great Wall Hans,
The pictures you posted about your trip on the Wall are really first class. A thrill for us that know you personally to see that you are still 'learning by visiting' as well as teaching.
After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
I thought it would be informative for others and rewarding for me personally, to log the progress of my efforts from beginning to end, as a Travel and Photo Jo... full info
