Your long lost relative! Hi Hans! You are amazing and I am so glad that Garry hooked me up with your blog today! I've lost touch with you, but I often think of what my previous family is doing...you, Resa, Garry and Monika! I am so touched by the all the people that love you so much, especially your students and your impact on their lives. It brought me to tears! I've enjoyed looking at the 53 blog entries over the past hour, and it's so good to see a picture of YOU! Have a wonderful time, as I know you will, and I will keep in touch via email and your blog! You were always such an adventurer and I'm so happy to see you and what's happening in your life!! Love, Sharon Cole Verley (in upstate New York)
Wow, I think this is one of the best entries so far! It is fascinating (and slightly horrifying) to learn about the sky funeral ritual and to learn about the monks. I rather like the idea of them gathering and debating issues and stomping for effect. It brings the culture into sharp contrast with our own. And the pictures were amazing.
schneider...I wanted you to know that I have picked German back up at Florida State University. I also wanted to thank you for being such an inspirational teacher. Not many teachers at the High School level know there subject, or have the ability as you do to connect with thier student and bring out the best results from each individuals potential. I walk with the lessons and experiences you have provided for me every day of my life. Your courage and ability to make the best of every situation is admirable. Thank you for sparking an interest in a subject that has contributed to my growth at an academic level and as a person.
Your Friend, John Moore

Lucky Schneider Panda bears are one of the most adorable animals ever. I want to be you in that picture, only i would start playing with him all over the place and wouldn't wanna leave. it'd be my very own real teddy bear. =p
wow, someone really needs to tell the US that trains are the way to go! Those images are beautiful, and I am desparatelty wishing that only I could go see them myself! I'm glad you're having a great time, but I still really miss you!
After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
I thought it would be informative for others and rewarding for me personally, to log the progress of my efforts from beginning to end, as a Travel and Photo Jo... full info
