Hello! I'm so glad to hear that you're settling in nicely and everything is looking so good for you over there. I'm glad to hear that our photos are being put to good use and that you haven't forgotten us yet. I'm glad to hear that you have encountered the intellectually hungry students that you were hoping to find. Best of luck in the nexy few days schneido!
Greetings from South Beach Hi Hans, Glad you arrived safely in Taizhou. I was touched by your description of your arrival and your reaction to life in a different world. My thoughts are with you too. Barry
Schneidipoo! Hallo Schneider! I'm so glad to see how well things are going in China. You deserve all the best. I miss you dearly and think about you daily. Glad to see you got "a much-appreciated western-style 'Throne'"... I'll bet that's a relief.
This, however, scared me: "...the heat of Taizhou, and makes me realize how spoiled I was in Miami." WHAT?!
Love you and miss you. Hope you can get pictures up soon :(.
Good Job Herr Schneider, I am glad that you have arrived safely in Taizhou, although it seemed that there was somewhat of a delay. But from here I can only hope you to have a wonderful time over there in China and prosper in anyway possible, be it intellectually or economically.
Hey Mr Schneider!!! I'm sooo glad that you made it safely to China! I hope you enjoy it there and to remind you that we are all going to miss you dearly here in CGHS. well, be safe!
June 3, 2006 I am very glad that you have arrived safely to Shanghai. I hope you do not have difficulty adapting to the new environment that surrounds you now. I assure you that the noises at late night and early morning will start bothering you at first, but you'll get use to them. I hope they have welcomed you in a way that you feel comfortable and happy. Good luck and you will adapt very easily.-Karla Rivera
Happy Arrival Glad to hear you made the journey in one piece. I know that you are probably still walking on air, and feeling a big change in your daily routine now. We called the morning of your departure date, but realized that you were probably out getting the last of the bagels or apple Strudel. Hope to talk soon.
Love Jer

I LOVED YOUR LAST ENTRY, IT MADE ME CRY, BECAUSE YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT TEACHER AND I HATE LOSING YOU, BUT YOU ARE NOW GOING TO BE A GREAT TEACHER OVER THERE. MARU
hello from miami hey Schneider! it sounds like your adjusting quite well over there. I hope the food at the college is more appetising than that of the plane ;-) Anyways my family and I just wanted to say hi and wish you luck in the classroom.
take care!
Ni hao! Dear Hans,
I love your blog and I read it avidly every time I get a chance. I am sad I did not get to wish you a Bon voyage but I am sure you are going to have a great time in China. I need to convince Marianne that we should go and visit. In any case, though our contact has been quite gering in the past few years, your love of teaching and your
generosity of spirit will be missed in Miami. I will you all the best in China and I look forward to reading your blogs. All the best and a big hug from Miami. JC
Good Luck Hans,
Good luck on your new adventure. Glad to hear everything went well and that you've arrived safely. I really admire you for what you're doing and know those students will be lucky to have someone like you to teach them.
Intersting Information, but . . .? We are all glad you arrived safely, and enjoyed the "festival in your Honor?', but I do have one question regarding the German Mag-Lev train - did you mean to say 380 mph, or was it 380 kmh. The miles per hour is Jet speed, while 380 kmh is still almost 100 kmh more than the TGV. No matter, we still hope to hear more from you in the future.
J David sends his best to you.
June 2, 2006, from 5th period Dear Mr. Schneider, I miss you so much already. Its going to feel really weird next year having a new German teacher next year. Its going to be a little bit hard to adapt and accept new rules that the new teacher imposes. But I hope that you have a great long trip. i know the Chinese students will accept you and respect you for the way that you are. They are going to love you and they are going to learn a lot from you. Good Luck in China and please com and visit next year. -Karla Rivera
It's been a while I know I haven't commented till now and for that I apologize. You are sorely missed everywhere it seems. I am glad that you are moving on to a different place on the other end of the world. Seems like you want to get as far as physically possible from us :P I wish you the best of luck in hopes that this new journey will be as fun and rewarding as possible and I am envious of all the students in china who will recieve your superb tutelage.
wie geht's wie steht's? Oh my God! I needed a box of tissues to get through your first blog! I'm so excited to hear about your adventures, I will be living vicariously(I hope I spelled that correctly!) through your travel diaries. So, please make them juicy and extremely discriptive. Miss you, Bringas.
Hello Mr. Schneider!!! Hallo Herr Schneider: I really hope to see you again soon!!! Guess what? I've already been adopted, I'm going to a little town called Springe, near Hannover. The family consists of 5 people one dog and 3 rabits. They are protestant.I communicate with my host sister by e-mail, she is really nice, and speaks fair English, the parents just a little bit.I'm still working on my travel blog, I'll let you know when it's ready. Wish you the best!!!!talk to you soon!!
Hey there I am! Hey Mr.Schneider!
Wow, I feel so lucky to have been taught by you and I hope all your plans for china go as planned! I can't believe i've known someone who has decided to do something so moving and inspirational! I can't wait to read the rest of your entries and I hope that China is everything you hoped it would be. Next year just won't be the same without you but i will hold you to your promise of coming for graduation! Remember to relax...you are embarking on a journey that should be fun and uplifting. P.S. your cats are oh so cute!
P.S.S. here's one of my favorite saying and I hope you'll take it to heart....Carpe Diem!
hey schneider hallo schneider :) if all went well, i assume you must be in china by now, which is difficult to get my head around. without thinking about it twice, saying goodbye to you was probably THE hardest goodbye i have ever had to say. i kept hugging you and saying to myself "ok. i can go now", and then i would come back. it is difficult to picture that next year i will be learning German under another teacher's supervision... it definately will not be the same, but I will give the new teacher the chance she deserves. i hope that by now you have read my letter and that you are sure that i meant every word that i wrote... you are one person who has made an invaluable impact on my life, changed me (for the better, undoubtedly), and i will never forget you or the lessons that you taught us, not only about prepositions and all that (ha), but especially about life. were people in our world as caring, giving, compassionate, understanding, (the list goes on) as you, we would never have to see people die like they are dying all around the world today. and the lessons that you taught us in your class everyday for 3 years have made me realize that i have a DUTY to make sure that i at least TRY to change that. and that is what i promise to do, because people like you came into my life and changed it. now i must try to do the same for other people. i love you too much for words, and i hope you'll keep in touch, and most of all... that i will see you at my high school graduation next year.
peace and love to you
After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
I thought it would be informative for others and rewarding for me personally, to log the progress of my efforts from beginning to end, as a Travel and Photo Jo... full info
