Hey everyone, Me and Jamie have been in Sydney for a couple of weeks now and just thought we would give you a quick update! We are still staying at Billabong gardens and will probably stay here for a while as we love the hostel and property rental and bonds are so high in Sydney, however we are going to look at a few flats in the city as we are both working in the city and the traffic is normally grid lock in the city centre! Hello everyone, Just woken up on our first morning in Sydney Australia! We flew in from Melbourne Avalon airport, which wasn't really in melbourne but geelong and took an hour to get to as well as being one of the smallest airports known to man - similar to plymouth!The flight however seemed to be over in a flash where as no sooner had we taken of and made our ascent we were being told we were decending again back into sydney and infact the flight was quicker than our aiport shuttle from melbourne to the airport! Hey Everyone, Sorry for another belated blog, once we start moving up the coast and all the exciting new things kick in again im sure we will be updating all the time! Me and Jamie are still living in the beautiful melbourne and are very settled in our flat and in our jobs, with me still at La Vita and Jamie being promoted at FW1 to a team leader! This meant him being flown up to sydney in the morning and coming back the same night, and Jamie really appreciated being flown to the capital on buisness and he got a good bonus! Heya everyone! Sorry it has been so long since we have posted a blog, we didn't have a clue its has nearly been a month! A lot has happened since we last wrote to you all, especially as we have now had our first Christmas and New Year's away from our home and families! Christmas day was alot better than we had anticipated as us and our 4 room mates (now the American/English couple and 2 Irish Girls) were all in the same boat so decided to have the most best Christmas we could! We went and bought a proper 6 foot artificial tree on the days leading up to xmas and Hannah decorated it and we went away from tradition by having a Koala Bear at the top instead of an angel or star. Hey everyone, It's been a busy week! We are going to finally be able to upload the pictures today. Since we last wrote a blog entry we have moved into our new apartment, had job interviews/trials and have really started exploring the area. The apartment is very nice, a lot bigger than what we were expecting and we are sharing with two other couples; two from Canada, one Englishman and an American. They're all very nice and easy to get along with, although being slightly messy, but it's something that we can easily live with. We are situated in one of the best locations in Melbourne, on a really busy shopping street with everything we need with bars, restaurants, clubs, supermarkets etc so we have everything that we need right on our doorstep and also being ... read more
G'day mates, we have loads to tell you after our first few days in Oz! The flights went very smoothly and a lot quicker than what we had thought they would being firstly a 7hr flight then transfer at LA onto a 16hr flight! So a long day, but we managed to get plenty of sleep during both flights. We arrived in Melbourne at midday and were surprised by the glorious weather that Oz is reknowned for....NOT!!! It was raining and cloudy for most of the day, as well as pretty cold. We arrived at the Hostel in St Kilda and checked in for 5 nights rather than 7 nights. Heya, Yesterday was Thanksgiving, so we woke up very early to make sure we had a prime spot to watch the Macy's Parade. However even though we were on 6th avenure in a line to wait at 7.30 we were still far from the front but had a pretty good view :) The parade started at 9 but we were at the end of the parade route so didnt see anything til about 9.45 so were stood there crammed for several hours but luckily it was no where near as cold as the weather forecasters had been saying so with 5 layers each we were more than toasty!
