When and where?
I'm currently in sucre and my camera is playing up big time after the Salar trip. It'd be great to be able to get it looked at. So any info you could pass on would be most welcome

Amazoonico
Kathy, I only spent 2 weeks in Amazoonico, and those were the most precious of my whole 10 month stay in South America. Surprisingly enough, there aren't that many primitive opportunities left. when i got off the boat and asked if they had internet, the guy told me, "we don't even have electricity", and i knew i had found just what i was looking for. it's magical and i hope to go back soon. you will love it! would love to hear an update from you. my email is colormegypsy@yahoo.com if you want to hold the monkeys, go volunteer at Intra Wara Yassi in Bolivia! I am heading to Amazoonica
Hi there I know your blog was from 4 yrs ago, but thought i might leave a note. I am heading to Amazoonica in 6mths, I will be there feb and march. Am really looking forward to it, but was becoming nervous reading how primitive it is. Then I read your posts and realised why I wanted to go and how much I love the simple life. Thanks

The face you are not seeing...
...is the squinty, narrow-eyed pissyboots face: Um, in the past several days, my fax machine has completely FAILED to deliver a hot, accent-having male!!! And you had TWO of them--and in my two fave accents, as well! Didn't you bring butterfly nets and straitjackets for this eventuality??? Jeez, come prepared!!! :) And speaking of straitjackets, remind me to slap you into one the next time I see u for that...CLIMBY...stuff. I seriously have the screaming meemees at the MENTION of being atop a wind-whipped bridge--I have NO idea HOW you do that, T!!! but hey--that's gotta be some awesome pix... Speaking of pictures: did you get some Tasmanian devil pix? Because I totally want to see them--I've never seen one, but of all the adjectives I would have thought of in context of those critters, "cute" wouldn't make the list, so I'm REALLY curious now!! Keep writing, T--great stories!!

Hilarious!
Tan, you do sound like your father sometimes! The bit about the bunkmates are a riot. Have fun! I looked at the bridge climb on the internet -- definitely NOT my thing. Love, Mom

Arrival
Tan, I'm glad you arrived in good shape after the very long trip. I've heard Syndey is beautiful. I hope the rest of your trip is not so expensive. It was like China -- $9 for a cup of tea. Thanks for the blog. Love, Mom

Well...
...at least you can say you're now aware of someplace to live that's actually MORE expensive than L.A.!! Either ol' girl in your hostel is a SERIOUSLY loud snorer, or you need stronger earplugs! (You say she got quiet--did one of yr other bunkmates strangle her???) Oh--and you DID give the Aussie boy my phone #, right? :) Seriously: glad you made it safe! Long transatlantic flights give me the willies, so it's good to hear that you're on the ground. Now: Find a nice patch of sand with a sunspot, put out your beach towel, and shut off all brain cells other than the ones needed to order a foofy drink with an umbrella. relax and enjoy not being at work!!

Uruguay Beaches
It is so beautiful there and there are not many Americans which makes is a pleasure to be there. Calm river like beaches, you've got as well surfing oceanic beaches. Uruguay has low to none crowd in most of the beaches from march to december. The only moment you will suffer beacause of crowd is on january and march. When a lot of people decide that surf plus the lot of turism that the zone atracts. The weather conditions are fine during most of the year. June, July and august are really cold but surfable. ---------------- Sarah Social Bookmarking

I have to admit that after reading this blog and looking at all your recap photos that I'm feeling a little sad, too. This has been a tremendous adventure for all of us here at "home" so for you it has certainly been life-changing and more. Thank you SO much for sharing with us and hopefully your experiences will help make your life happier and more fulfilling in the future. Give Peanut a big hug for us. P.S. better late than never?
hi - Sorry I've been absent the past few weeks. Things here have been wilder than usual. The buildings in Cartagena were so pretty with all those nice colors. If I ever have to live in town I want the houses to be painted like that. We have a 4 day old filly and she is doing well. Oh, and I have 10 ducklings and I'm loving having them. They are in the house still...... Happy Easter!
22nd March 2007

Hot Damn!
Tana, Well, it looks like Cartagena was SO much better than Brazil! It has so many colorful buildings (old) and nice buildings (new). Drinks, nice food, beaches - must have been a great place to relax! Peanut thought the fat lady was you, but I told him I didn't think so! He said 'meeep' Thanks for putting the effort into keeping us up-to-date w/ you by doing your blog. It's nice to live vicariously through your eyes! Cheer up, you'll be back in LA soon. Kwirk
