Better late than never! Good for you for getting out your blog--I'm now a couple of years behind! What great places you visited even if the weather wasn't the best--love this peninsula and its views. Inspiring places too--Mandela's cell, Bishop Tutu's church and Bo-Kapp. Like you, I'd never heard of the Indian Ocean slave trade--so sad the widespread lack of respect for human beings. But how great all those international friends you made working in New Zealand that you've been able to visit. Good luck getting out your next blogs!
Some bad luck you had Sounds like you ran into some bad luck: closed lion parks, bird poop, your travel companion being ill and lousy weather. Sometimes those things happen and that is also part of the experience. It might not be very fun right there and then but when you think back you will remember the good parts stronger than the bad ones. /Ake
Rainbow Nation We still have one blog to write from our recent trip so we understand how you can get behind. It has been fun following you around the world. Welcome back home. Eager to read the remaining blogs and find out what is next for you.
Swaziland It is sometimes nice when a country isn't exactly what you expected- you need surprises from time to time. Congratulations on 70...well on your way to 100. We certainly need to see a video of you dancing. Too bad you couldn't stay longer...another time.
fantastic ! I liked your photos and comments very much. Photos of Samarkand are fantastic. By the way I also appreciate your idea of taking the photos of the currency notes, my being a numismatist.
Another country visited by few Interesting to get an insight in yet another country I knew very little of. Are there also interesting things to see outside Gabarone?/Ake
Bon Biní, Bienvenido, Welkom, Welcome, Benvenuto, Wilkommen!
I'm Elton, from the island of Curaçao (Southern Caribbean) where I was born, raised and currently living. I grew up in a local neighbourhood just west of Otrobanda in Willemstad. I speak Papiamentu, Dutch, Spanish, English, regular Italian and a little German. Curaçao is a small but unique Island. It's not the typical Caribbean island with just sun and beaches. It has a rich and interesting history and culture. The capital, Willemstad, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visit Curaçao . com ... full info
