Croatia is also one of my favorite countries in Europe, and I especially liked Plitvice Lakes! But I have not yet visited Zagreb so it was interesting to read about it as you seem to have covered a lot of the town. Once again, enjoyed your photos of all the scenic places.
Great Review! Glad you're writing once again! We have been interesting in visiting Portugal and so this is a very timely blog with useful tips too. Great photos!
Waterfalls inside forest! I have been to this place before. Really an amazing one. See my photos here https://www.tripuntold.com/kerala/idukki/thoovanam-waterfalls/reviews/4922/
So glad you finally made it I had such a great time meeting with you for the first time on St. Maarten. Who would have thought our encounter would lead to such a great friendship? Thank you for visiting. Come back again soon so we can go explore the surrounding islands. I will be your guide this time ;-)
Thank you Riselle. I certainly will, and I want to see more of the island and neighbouring islands too. So happy to have finally met you in person there...thank you very much for a great friendship! :-)
That's a trademark Ake picture That kind of photo, of a long "corridor" is my trademark photo. That was a cool one. A lot of interesting places you went to. I also love Brighton and York I want to go to partly because they have a Viking museum there. At least I think they do. /Ake
Lucky you having 5 weeks to spend in Europe! Have never been to Rotterdam and was surprised to learn of its modern side as compared to Amsterdam and your photos illustrate that very well. Nice review of your time there and in Brussels.
On Rotterdam We have visited both Amsterdam and Brussels but never Rotterdam. Perhaps we will go there some day. Hopefully it is an interesting place. Btw did you know that there in Brussels is one more statue of a urinating child? Jeanneke Pis it is called and it shows a girl urinating./Ake
Peru remains at the top of our favorite country list. Machu Picchu was simply amazing. Really enjoyed following you to this wonderful place. We took meds so we didn't have any trouble with the altitude. We loved every part of Peru.
The floating islands You could argue that the floating islands are a tourist trap. Personally I feel that they are a very intersting cultural phenomenon that you shouldn't miss if you are in the region. I loved them and found them very fascinating. Sad though that they, from what you say, might not be around much longer. At least not in the way they are now when people actually live there. 50 years from now it might be something that more resemples a theme park. It felt good to read your blog as usual. I miss Peru. /Ake
Thanks Ake!
True, I did not see them as a tourist trap. I hope they can stay around for much, much longer. Let's see what will happen. Like you say, it may become something like a theme park over time..sadly enough.
Bon Biní, Bienvenido, Welkom, Welcome, Benvenuto, Wilkommen!
I'm Elton, from the island of Curaçao (Southern Caribbean) where I was born, raised and currently living. I grew up in a local neighbourhood just west of Otrobanda in Willemstad. I speak Papiamentu, Dutch, Spanish, English, regular Italian and a little German. Curaçao is a small but unique Island. It's not the typical Caribbean island with just sun and beaches. It has a rich and interesting history and culture. The capital, Willemstad, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visit Curaçao . com ... full info
