Surprisingly, we woke up in time for the breakfast buffet at 10:30. It was terrible getting up, we both felt like our heads were getting pounded from the inside and our stomachs were turning upside down, but I had a great time… It would take some time for to recover so I could drink again (Adam didn’t need such a thing). After we tried to stuff down as much Irish food as we could (it was our last day after all) we went back upstairs to start packing. Our flight was to leave at 5:00 pm today, so we were in no hurry to get ready at all. In fact, after we had finished packing, we checked out and left our belongings with the staff so we could go back to the first pub we went ... read more

Today is my birthday! Can’t believe I turn 20…. My family sent me a heartfelt and lengthy string of messages on Viber, each person writing a paragraph for me with their own thoughts. My mom sent me some pictures of me when I was just a baby in her arms, I couldn’t help but look at them for awhile and thank God for the wonderful family that I have. We woke up and had breakfast, and started planning for the awesome night we were going to have. I had booked our spots for this New Year’s Eve Pub Crawl that was supposed to be packed and really popular, and we both couldn’t wait until it started… so much so that we started drinking at 2:30 pm. We kept it up until 5:30 pm or so, and ... read more

We woke up today at 10:30 am again to catch the wonderful breakfast that was waiting downstairs for us. We enjoyed it in a timely manner, and by timely I mean until we felt that we had satisfied ourselves. The plan for today was to either go to the Guinness storehouse or the Jameson Distillery, and we had opted for the Guinness Storehouse. I had been there already, but I didn’t mind going a second time because I thought it would be worth it for Adam to see it and also because they give you a complimentary pint of Guinness at the end of the tour, which is always a plus. We decided to take a taxi there because walking there would take about an hour and a half or so, which was not an option ... read more

We arrived in Dublin the other day pretty late, around 11 pm or so (I forget), so we just crashed in our hotel room as soon as we got there. We woke up today around 10:30 am because the breakfast buffet that was included with our stay was set to close at 11. The food was amazing, so glad we woke up in time for it… It was a traditional Irish breakfast, with meat pudding, glazed ham, smoked beans, sizzling sausages and baked potatoes…. as I’m writing this I’m getting hungry. We sat an enjoyed our meal in no rush, as we had no plans for the day other than to explore the area. In fact, we didn’t start venturing out until 3 pm because we did some research of the area in our room and ... read more

I’m not going to write about our 4th day in Berlin as much, because I think our last day merits more reflection and effort. We did actually end up doing a lot on the 27th, such as going on a tour, seeing the Berlin Wall and the Berlin Tower (one of the tallest buildings in Europe, Adam and I ate lunch at the restaurant on the top floor, which rotated!) and the Topography of Terrors (which was the old SS and Gestapo headquarters), but I think that our trip to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was more important and thought-provoking. We were told by our tour guide the other day that if we have the time, a trip to a concentration camp is worthwhile and one of the most important things you could immerse yourself in during ... read more

We woke up today just in time to make the breakfast buffet that our hotel had for all of its guests. It’s about 14 euros, but I guess it was worth it because it did have some excellent food for everyone to enjoy. There were a variety of breads, cheeses, and hams, followed by creams, nutella, and peanut butter in the slot next to the sandwich area. 3 types of cereal were laid out right next to the hot food platters, which had pancakes, eggs, and sausages all hot and ready for consumption. Finally they had a yogurt station, with 5 different kinds off flavored yogurt and an assortment of toppings. Needless to say, I got my money’s worth…. Adam was struggling to get in more food because he told me that he hasn’t been eating ... read more

Merry Christmas!!!! I couldn’t believe the day was finally upon us, and I woke up missing my family so much. It’s the first Christmas that I’ll be away from home, but it’s the same for Adam. We’re out here to have a great time and our parent would want us to do the same, so we had to get past these feelings and get on with our day. I woke up to Adam shaking me up, at 10 in the morning… I had made the decision to go to bed at 6 am earlier that day, but Adam decided to just get on with his day, so he had stayed up all night. He told me that he had already gone off on his own and done some exploring, and that he wanted to get in ... read more

Woke up to Adam shaking me up at 10 am... I only got 4 hours of sleep and he had gotten none, except he was somehow energized. Both of our sleeping cycles are off, but his is different from mine. He had drank a lot of coffee and had seen a lot of significant monuments already, like the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Dome, and he wanted me to get up so I can see them as well.... read more

I woke up around 11 am, and Adam was still asleep. I had no idea that check out was at noon that day, and we got a call at 12:04 pm from the reception desk, kindly asking us to hurry up because they were expecting other guests later that day. We frantically packed everything we had and hurried down to the desk, because we weren't about to get fined for something like a late check out that's for sure. On the way to the central station, Adam realized that his backpack was missing, which contained his passport, computer, and all of his euros.... It's been awhile since I've seen him panic like this, but it was completely understandable because he had so many important things in that backpack. We hurried back to the hotel, praying that ... read more

I woke up to Adam shaking me... It was about 10 am, and he really wanted to get a move on with his day. I didn't realize he would be so excited and energized like this, he is really great to travel with. We went to the coffee shops before getting something to eat. He wanted to see as many different shops as possible, because they all have different environments and vibes. We were at this place called "Justin's" for about an hour, and we left at noon to go find that Italian restaurant that had treated us so well the other day. I was pretty surprised that these coffeshops get so much foot traffic in the mornings, people really love their weed around here. After having another round of calzones from the other day, we ... read more
