As my brother lives in Perth and our mother here in Melbourne with us, it was decided to go to Asia for her birthday instead of my brother and his family flying here to Melbourne. Stupidly it is actually cheaper for them to go to Thailand by plane and stay in a hotel than to come to Melbourne! Geo: 5.4712, 100.246We flew out on the 00:45am Malaysia Airlines flight from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur, then Malaysia Airlines again to Penang, arriving about 9:00am. The flight was as comfortable as you could hope but I didn't think the service or food was as good as our flight on Thai Airlines who we flew with last year.We were collected at the airport up by a driver from the Bayview Beach Resort, and he took us on a quick driving tour around Georgetown along the way to Batu Ferringhi which was very interesting.
