I'll be staying at the Marriott AC Roija... in Logrono when I pass through in September...my rest break at the end of week one. I'm using points but it's inexpensive in euros. I'm counting down with you.
Following you. I'm Bill Reeds sister and have followed your last trip, look forward to following this one. Sorry can't help with the 111 but me thinks it is better then 777 or the likes, think it means your number 1all the way. I'm kind of a do different then others, so appreciate your trips, it's good to show our children, grand and greats that there is nothing you can't do if it's something you want to do and not going to hurt anyone else. Sending you a pray for a safe trip so carry it with and will be adding more to it.
HI Lynn I know who you are :) . I like the way you think woman! I will keep that in mind when I get spooked again :) Thank you for the prayer , please keep them coming ( Joe ..Lauries husband )
I had my first nightmare about the Camino last night... I had to pack my backpack for the first time in the dark, and finding all the Ity Bity Bits was terrifying.
EXCITING!! I'm excited for you! Got to be the one of the best experience's someone could want. We will miss you here at work but at least you will be able to enjoy your journey and not have to hurry back!!
To work that is!!!
Zepher rather than a strong wind make it a gentle breeze please. I'm going go slow and low . As for the sun in my face , thanks , I forgot to add sunglasses to my list :)
Congratulations! I am so happy for you that you will return to the Camino in May instead of in September! I am looking forward to keeping up with your walk on your blog! Happy planning and training!!
I cashed in United frequent flyer miles... and am flying from Colorado Springs on 4 September 2016 to Houston to Frankfurt to Barcelona, where I will spend two days before departing on 7 September at 9:30 am on the train to Pamplona, arriving there at 1:15 pm. I'm picking up my credential, visiting the cathedral and some Hemingway haunts, and then walking to Cizur Menor that evening, staying at the Albergue de Maribel Roncal. I arrive in Los Arcos four days later, staying in the Casa de la Abuela. Let me know if those are good albergues. So if I had to give you advice, I would recommend Barcelona as I find it much more interesting and beautiful than Madrid. And I'm pleased that you have a plan and the proper medical advice so that this time you will complete the Camino. I will be Following you!
Barcelona I agree Barcelona is a great place. We stopped there for a couple heading home. Picasso Museum , Zoo , the FOOD! . Might do it .. not sure yet . September was nice in 2014 .. hope its the same. If I find any good albergues I will diffidently let you know I will even give you heads up on the not so good ones
You will be officially retired! Glad to see that you will try again...from Logrono I assume. Buen Camino! I fly to Barcelona, Spain on 4 Sep and start walking from Pamplona on 7 Sep 2016.
Heading to Los Arcos I'm going in May now , not sure of the day . Will have date set by end of January . I haven't decided whether to fly into Madrid again or head to Barcelona . The train goes directly to Logrono from Barcelona and I prefer American Airlines vs Iberia so I will probably go to Barcelona .
When I was in the Navy I spent some time in Palma de Majorica , Might stop there and relive my younger days before I head to Los Arcos.

Great Place .
Glad to see you are planning your return to the Camino... I plan to walk the Way in September 2016, but leaving earlier from Pamplona so that I can be in Logrono for the Rioja Wine Harvest Festival and Najera for the Festival of San Juan during the third week of September. I learned from your "mistakes" and will start slow and listen to my feet, averaging only 10 miles per day.
Logrono 10 mies is a good pace. My plane will be landing in Barcelona circa Sept 23 then train to Logrono staying over 24th ,25th then taxi to Los Arcos morning of the 26th then back to Logrono via foot ..maybe someway a festival will be experienced! :)
I believe this is where I am to say something that will shift the earth on it's axis and make your world larger , brighter , more meaningful. Ok .I'll try . Here Goes .
Ask yourself this . "Whens the last time I did something for the first time "? . Or this " What was I worried about this time last year"? .. I will leave that for you to answer.
One of the reasons I'm going on the Camino is to step each day into a new view , experience new-ness and meet new people. Another reason is it's my way of showing my son's ,grandkids , nieces and nephews that the overused Latin term "C... full info
