Hang tight I'm in the middle of getting my left calf and Knee treated for considerable damage . Its not over yet so I am sitting tight until I get my knee drained. I will be on crutches for a month once drained. I will update my Blog soon . Thanks for the nudge :)
me siento orgulloso de ustedes Hey Mr. Joe....Okay. So the subject line should say, 'I am proud of you'....sure hope it does! LOL We are proud of you and have enjoyed your posts and pictures! What you did was nothing less than victorious because you stepped out and DID it! Hope one day we can say the same...We wish you a wonderful retirement with your sweet family...let's get together sometime! take care of yourself...Steve & Jackie Morris
Thank You Steve and Jackie! I appreciate that , It was a hell of a lot of fun and equally alot of pain but that was mostly plan for. Except for to the broken calf muscle that now has me home and laid up for 6 weeks . Steve ,,, I will stop by and say "Hi" once I'm up and moving. Had dinner at Noel & Cherys last week , home made Sicilian Pizza . It Rocked! Thanks Again :)
Photos Am loving these photos, Joe :) Sorry to hear about your knee... working quite a lot, now, so I am behind on your blog posts but am slowly catching up. Take care!
... That's pretty hardcore, man... I love meeting fellow walkers on the path. We met this one in Greece who was traveling alone and we tried to befriend him but, nope, he was totally about being alone :)
Knees - useful, or not Really feeling your pain re the knee. Nine years of a bum knee that doesn't get better except when using a stationary bike to build muscle around the bone. But it's been a while since i could do even that. I admire you so much for your courage in walking alone for any length of time, for your adventurous spirit, for your life -- for everything you have seen and accomplished. This is just one little segue on your journey. Perhaps you'll walk the Camino again. If you want to, I have no doubt you'll find a way. I love you Uncle Joe. Rest, relax and remember these beautiful days. And thanks for sharing them with me and the world here on your blog. Love, Micky
Bees Knees It seems thier all abuzz .my fault . Thanks Micky I really appreciate what you say here. I try to keep it mixed up some . I think I will sit tight a bit a enjoy some down time ..love you
With you in spirit all the way Glad you got to rest and wow what a beautiful place to do it. Love you Uncle Joe. Following your steps closely. Take good care of you. Buen Camino. Love, Micky
the hills Oh yes the hills! I used to remind myself to keep the lovely thoughts in order, a beautiful view was first, the fact that it meant an arduous climb out of a valley was just secondary!
Good decision... and by the time you get to the meseta you will likely be alone Until then you may want to have the albergue you are staying in call ahead and make a reservation at the next albergue. Good luck.
Best of luck! Good decision to avoid Alto de Perdon. The descent can be more difficult than the hike up, and more dangerous if muddy and slippery! Enjoy Los Arcos!
Good start! It looks like you are having a wonderful start to your Camino. Pamplona is a great city. I hope your first day walking up Alto de Perdon is an easy one. Take your time and enjoy the view!
I hear that the Camino is very crowded this year... you may be joining Paul sleeping outside. You might want to join the American Pilgrims on the Camino (APOC) Facebook page, where pilgrims reach out to each other, if you haven't already done so. Buen Camino!!!
Crowed I am hearing mixed comments on crowding. Most that I have talked to say that they havent had any trouble . On the other hand I hear on the forums that there is crowded hostels I guess I'll find it out as I go. Thank you for the heads up.
I believe this is where I am to say something that will shift the earth on it's axis and make your world larger , brighter , more meaningful. Ok .I'll try . Here Goes .
Ask yourself this . "Whens the last time I did something for the first time "? . Or this " What was I worried about this time last year"? .. I will leave that for you to answer.
One of the reasons I'm going on the Camino is to step each day into a new view , experience new-ness and meet new people. Another reason is it's my way of showing my son's ,grandkids , nieces and nephews that the overused Latin term "C... full info
