Back to the planning stage again . (ohhh Boy) Looking at Mid May to step off the curb and onto the path . To do that I have to get to Los Arcos . That's were I will start. If your not familiar with Los Arcos , join the club . All I remember is one night in the Hostel , some neat people , a rainstorm and some food . That's where I am going back to , but not for the food.

The question of the day is this : Does one fly into Barcelona or Madrid ? . Barcelona gives me 100% American Airlines which I really like , then Renfre train to Logrono followed by bus/taxi to Los Arcos . Madrid , probably a bus to Los Arcos . Madrid means flying Iberia Airlines ... not crazy about that . I'm 6'1" and Iberia doesn't really offer up much room . I'm pricing out the trip now . We shall see. I have frequent flyer miles so that is a huge expense that won't burden me .

The nice thing this time is I don't have to worry about rushing back to the US . I can meander , sit awhile , smell the wine. I can't drink the wine . I am allergic to alcohol ( Thank you Lord!) well.. maybe a few sips is ok but not more.

The program for this adventure will involve making sure I don't disturb the L5 bone spur that is pushing on nerve bundle. I have a pain management DR that is giving me steroid shots in my spinal cord to dead'n this pain . This is what caused me to crash and burn in 2014 . This time , easy goes it . I plan to walk all the way to Santiago de Compostela and if possible on to Cape Finesterra ( aka The end of the World) . I will take a bus or cab if the pain comes back . But that's not in my plan if at all I can help it .

I also want to thank all of you that are here reading this. You Rock! If , when I am on the trail and there's building/place/food/etc you want to know more about or a picture of same . Feel Free to ask . My fee schedule is on the next page 😊

I cashed in United frequent flyer miles...
and am flying from Colorado Springs on 4 September 2016 to Houston to Frankfurt to Barcelona, where I will spend two days before departing on 7 September at 9:30 am on the train to Pamplona, arriving there at 1:15 pm. I'm picking up my credential, visiting the cathedral and some Hemingway haunts, and then walking to Cizur Menor that evening, staying at the Albergue de Maribel Roncal. I arrive in Los Arcos four days later, staying in the Casa de la Abuela. Let me know if those are good albergues. So if I had to give you advice, I would recommend Barcelona as I find it much more interesting and beautiful than Madrid. And I'm pleased that you have a plan and the proper medical advice so that this time you will complete the Camino. I will be Following you!

If I find any good albergues I will diffidently let you know I will even give you heads up on the not so good ones
