Re: van rental We're using Backpackers and it's much cheaper to hire a van in NZ about half the price than Australia - that's for 2 berth with shower and toilet with top insurance level (he prompts me) £2500 (NZ $5000) Hope this helps x

You guys look great! Glad to see you're loving Oz. I'm in Thailand, and Anna has informed me that Palm Point Village was not her recommendation, but yours! Thanks sooooo much. Loved it!
van rental Hello,
Glad you are enjoying the blogs. If you need any info about vans etc or anything else Oz related just email. We're going to NZ next so if you have any info for us please pass it on. We were gonna buy a cheap car to tour around in but weren't sure if rental was the way to go there for 2 months.
front page ahh thank you to the people who recommended us. We're glad that everyone is enjoying our blogs and are finding it useful. There will be more to come, well if a roo doesn't leap out in front of the van anyway:)
:) Hey.... You guys are front page, CONGRATS!!!
Glad you're enjoying the driving in OZ, our friends never understand why we get so p***ed off when it takes us a couple of hours to go a few miles down the road, there's just too many damn people and not enough space here in the UK!
Safe travels... and enjoy! :)

Thanks Rita, good tips. I had been wondering about the best SIM option. I wasn't going to bother with data on the plan, but it might turn out to be useful.
Oz Hi guys, recommend 3 for pre pay I'd u e in urban areas/ coast. $29 for $150 credit and 250mb data. You can use $5 of the 150 to to get 100 mins to landlines in the UK. Cheapest food here is in the malls too, often in basements. Cheaper than buying and cooking from the super market!
Hey guys!! Hey guys, great to hear about your ecent adventures! We loved the Perhentians and KL- are you going to the Water/Theme Park. Can't remember what it was called but it's awesome!
Just had my back surgery- I'm out of action for 6 weeks- not allowed to work, drive or anythin g for 6 weeks. It's been 4 days and I'm already going crazy!
Oh yeah, I've just bought a boat so get ready for some waterski/biscuit action- lets see what damage Lou can do on that!!!
Can't wait to see you guys,
See you for a hot Christmas!! Paul
The reunion Sorry I missed the drinking session with the two of you and Rob and Anna. We'll have to plan one someday somewhere in the world. Love the Hutton in Georgetown. Thanks for the suggestion. And yeah, that sitting in front of food waiting to break the fast thing is truly strange. They do it here too. On to Thailand in the morning.
Malaysia Caught up on your antics - makes me feel old and boring! Definitely need my creature comforts.
Looking forward to your next entries and see you near the end of 2010.
Love

Malaysia Fantastic, we loved Malaysia the second time around good to hear you guys are enjoyin it, to bad we couldnt cross paths this trip we are off to Greece tomorrow, just spent 5 days in Singapore, keep the blogs comin, take care and enjoy OZ
that my top Hiya.
boy that was a funny update, thanks for the laughs. Chris you reminded me of my Dad so much - we went to Switzerland on holiday as kids and while driving thorugh the hills on way to cable car he stopped the car got out and made mum drive while he sat in the back of the car with my shellsuit (that's how long ago I'm talking) top over his head. After arriving at the 1st cable car we managed to get him on and he did what you did and just sat clinging on to the chair (also with his head between his knees)! we couldn't persuade him to get in the 2nd car up to the glacier so just left him 1/2 way up.
So I'm actually very impressed Chris (in fact that photo of the bridge does look a bit scary).
Lou - i'm loving the animal tourettes and those deer look look harmless in that pic :o)
Gill xx
OMFG indeed!! We have all had a giggle at your expense mate! The views are pretty darn spectacular but I didn't appreciate just how scarey the walk would be on that bloody bridge - I'm not scared of heights but that would have done me! Good on ya guys!
Thanks for the insight Hi Chris and Lou,
I had no idea about the history, and I agree you should have gone. I am with you about the pictures too. Hope you're both well xxx
Not sure if you guys have heard about the book "First they killed my father" by Loung Ung (she wrote a follow up as well called "Lucky Child") If you guys are interested more in what happened from someone who was there for the whole thing she writes an amazing tale. It's a bit hard to take but very informative and gives you more insight into what the people really went through. We both... I don't want to say enjoyed but am finding a lack of wording for this... we found it hard to put the book down. I would suggest reading one if not both of them! super easy to find in Cambodia as well!!
Hope you guys are having a good time in Cambodia besides the hard parts!!
Kristy
