Sooooo Jealous!!! Wow that beer looks amazing...... loving the blog you two- please don't get bored of doing it and give up because then I wouldn't have anything to look forward to! I had a top night out with Gill and a uni mate on friday and yes we were made to play the crystal maze game ( we only let her play it once though as it was appalling- we didn't complete a single challenge!) Xi-an looks stunning so lots more photo's please.

Bring your own! Looks like you're having a great time in Beijing. Spitting was supposed to have been banned before the olympics but what can you do! For the toilet though you must take some tissue or loo roll whenever you go out as it's never provided. Enjoy Xian and try a Xinjiang (Chinese muslim) restaurant they do great lamb kebabs and the tastiest noodles, there should be some listed in the lonely planet if you have it. A

You're already looking tanned Chris!!! Hey guys- congrats on finally making it out from under the ash! I can't believe it's how fast that's come around- I bet it seems like ages for you guys! Your trip already sounds awesome- I miss travelling. Keep us updated and keep working on that tan Chris. See you both in December!
Haven't really experienced the cuisine yet. We couldn't find anything that looked decent. Off to the night markets tomorrow night so will probably partake in some mystery meat on a stick! Would like to find a good local eatery, but the ones we've seen so far didn't have an english menu, or even pictures to point to. The hostel does good food though. Will do for today.
At Last Woo Hoo you made it at last, looks fantastic, i am so jealous! looks like you got good weather too, being english i have to comment on this! so what delights have you eaten so far? and good to see your keeping your end up for the british tourist abroad, and good thinking Lou sewing kit i thought i always packed everything but i would not have thought of that and my bottoms would be hanging off! and i would have been looking for ash build up too but i hate flying! so have you has to modify your trip now you set off late and where to next? beer for breakfast! keep enjoying it and look after yourselves! xxx
Still here U just don't want to leave blighty! Feel free to pop back to manc to do my washing up!

Got all excited when I saw a first blog post and was so upset for you to hear your trip has started off so bad. Darn Volcanoes! Lets hope this is the only hiccup you have all year. Looking forward to the blogs.
Our first big trip was between April 2010 and March 2011. We visited China, then Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, OZ, New Zealand and finally the USA.
We're now preparing for another 6 month jolly to SE Asia - leaving in September.
