We pulled up at the train station and decided to walk to our hotel again because it was "10mins away". 25mins later we arrived at Newlife where they filled our thirsty holes with drink and yoghurt. A nice welcome and we went up to our room complete with balcony. A first on our trip. We didnt do anything this day due to travelling all day but we ate at Family Home restaurant which had the best spring rolls and massive servings we were stuffed. Stick a chopstick in me! One thing we noticed about Hue was there was alot of dogs here especially on our hotels road. Next day was roasting and we went to the market where Ro got some stuff and I got annoyed with the women trying to rip me off for shoes. ... read more

The taxi got us to Da Nang in about 20mins and was a ride down the coast. We seen marble mountain on the way which would of been a good stop if we were driving ourself. We got out at the train station with our pal from Seattle who was leaving on the next train out. We bought our tickets for 2days away and went on our way to the hotel. When you look at Vietnamese maps you can never tell how big the city is and the hotel is always "only 10mins away" in my opinion and my opinion rules the roost... It was about 20mins away so not too wrong but I didnt count on the Sun making it seem like two hours. We checked into our room/dungeon with no windows and got in ... read more

We arrived at Sunflower early so we couldnt check in yet. We waited in reception with the Aussie couple for an hour or so until they brought us our keys. They told us they have one double room and one twin room. We flipped a coin for the double room... England 1-0 Australia! We walked up to our room like we had won the Ashes but then the mood turned sour... Fishy sour. The bus journey from hell got worse as I realised my bag had been packed underneath the bus with Hoi An fish market. I emptied the rucksack and put it in the shower, inspected my clothes and found fish juice on all my pants so they had to get showered too. They had more showers than I had. We walked into Hoi An ... read more

We arrived in Nha Trang on Sunday night the 29th and got a lift to our hotel for free. When we arrived to check in they didnt have record of our booking and told us the hotel was full. However they had a spare room at the top of the building if we wanted to use that for the night. With it being late and being on the bus for 10 hours we accepted it and took the lift to our room. It was basically a room on the roof with 3 beds in. The roof offered good views of the City but after a few minutes we just wanted to sleep the days travelling off. We woke quite early and planned to just travel around town until we could get in our booked room at ... read more

As the bus was going through Ho Chi Minh late at night we were worried where we were going to be dropped off and where our hotel was in relation because the city was huge! The bus stopped on Le Lai and we could see the My Anh from the window! Brilliant. We then walked across the park and checked in to find the room had a bath, and a hairdryer. This was like the Hilton Ho Chi Minh and we only paid £11. The next morning we had our usual breakfast of eggs and bread and left for the city. Probably wont eat another egg again when we get home. We walked the 20mins to Ben Thanh market which must of sold mirrors because every stall was exactly the same and we done 40 laps ... read more

Our first thoughts were that Phnom was far from Phenomenal and when we were told whilst checking in that the Vietnamese Embassy was closed for New Year our hearts sunk. We were told it was back open on the 26th January and we would have our visa to leave on the 27th. Today was the 22nd and we had only booked 2nights! We booked the cheapest place in Phnom Penh for the extra 3 nights and planned how we could spread our 2day itinery out. We went to the Shopping centre close by our hotel for the first night which was like a mini MBK (Bangkoks mall). We got back to hotel and our TV was showing Super Sunday all the games so I had the time of my life watching the footy from 9pm til ... read more

We arrived at Golden Mango and were greeted by Sonny who was a proper nice guy. We got cold towels which felt like an orgasm after the day we had and some magical juice which we were confused by but by the end of our stay realised was just the mixed fruit juice we had at breakfast! We had a double room booked but the first night we had to stay in a twin room, we didnt mind because we thought we are going to be sleeping next to each other for 3months and could do with the seperate beds for good sleep. We arrived at about 5pm by the way and slept until dinner time next day! We had arranged for a driver to pick us up at 2pm to take us to Angkor Wat ... read more

We had booked the earliest train for 5.55am which meant an early start. We planned an early night before but this didnt work out so we had to stay awake all night. We left the Nantra at about half 4 and got a taxi to the train station 30mins away. This cost about £3 and cost less than the 5minute journey we got at the start of the trip when we had mug wrote on our heads. We got our tickets for the six hour train journey for 48baht (£1.20) and sat on the last carraige. There was about 5 other backpackers and the rest were locals. We found a double seat next to the window and enjoyed the view of the Thai countryside for the 6hours with no problems. The rest of the border crossing ... read more

Wednesday night in our hotel after three days of 100mph madness. We leave early in the morning on a train to Cambodia where Rosara can FINALLY get a massage!! Today we went to Lumphini Park which must have soundproof gates because you can't believe it is in the middle of Bangkok. We have tons of photos but they don't tell half the story. We thought we seen the worlds biggest lizard here, then we seen Larry.. The worlds biggest lizard!!! Yesterdays plan was to go to Dusit Zoo but we missed our train, then every taxi driver didnt have a clue where we wanted to go. Change of plan and we ended up in Siam with 4 huge shopping centres. We are going to come back in April and spend the rest of our money here ... read more

Just over two weeks to go and we collectively have about 75p for our three month trip. Rosara has filled six a4 notepads with things to see. Two notepads just dedicated to spas, every spa in Aisa it seems. This time next week we should hopefully be in a better position financially, I should of sold the car or sold my body.... read more
